just the best it ever got. gorgeous, atmospheric, and intelligent, with a layered plot that i never get tired of. mccoy is on brilliant form too.

the 60s is chock-full of gems, and this is a completely underrated one. laugh-out-loud funny, but with a brutal climax that catches you off guard. hartnell is a legend, as ever!

another hartnell-era beauty. the production values here, relatively speaking, are so much more impressive than they'd be for the next 20 years...

loads of really funny dialogue, sarah's fab (especially her contemptuous 'get lost!'), and it's great seeing the 3rd dr in a historical setting.

a far more interesting take on the daleks than in terry nation’s b-movie vehicles, encompassing contemporary and victorian settings and a return to skaro, in an intriguing, ambitious plot

a tasty bonus: this set has so many great episodes (albeit isolated from their respective stories). the crusade and yeti stories are great, and the underwater menace is wonderful, silly pulp fun!
