Chilling!
Doctor Tess Ciccotelli is a psychiatrist and when her troubled patients begin to die in suspect ways the police think she may be the killer. When detective Aidan Reagan and his partner Todd Murphy catch her case Aidan is quick to judge the one woman he feels allowed a monster to escape his punishment. Tess knows she's going to have to cooperate with the police she only wishes she didn't see Aidan as a man, a man who makes her want a the security of his arms.

Aidan Reagan is prepared to hate Tess for her role in allowing a murdering monster to escape standing trial. He is convinced she is the enemy. But, when the murders of her patients begin to climb and she is ruined and her friends an family are in danger he realizes that he is wrong about Tess. She cares and despite his best effort he finds out so does he. He now needs to find a killer who wants Tess dead before he looses the one person he'll ever love.

Ms. Rose has done it again. She is one talented writer who can draw out a suspense read to the final spine chilling end. It was fun to re-visit with Abe, Kristen, and the rest of the Reagan family. Aidan and Tess are compelling characters and the nightmare Ms. Rose creates for them is top drawer. This is one author I highly recommend.

I have enjoyed all of Ms Rose's books and this was no exception. It is fast paced, twists and turns and the characters are really superb.
Tess Ciccotelli is a psychiatrist - the psychiatrist who testified against the police in a high profile case and instead of death row a murderer was confined to a three meals a day psychiatric hospital.

When one of her patients commits suicide Aidan Reagan is assigned the case - he knows of Ms Ciccotelli - but does not know her. As more of her patients meet their maker Tess and Aidan begin to bond and as the web becomes tighter they are pushed closer together.

The emotional intensity is fraught at times, with good central and ancilliary characters and a fast pace; the story line is good as well - but I NEVER get the murderer anyway, so that doesn't mean no-one else will!!

A superb read!

What a page turner!
This isn't a short book, but I couldn't put it down and read it in little over a day. I only discovered Karen Rose less than a year ago and have worked my way through her back catalogue and this book was not a disappointment.

This is a girl's thriller. It has a plot full of twists and turns, spiced up by the relationship between the main protagonists. It's the romance novel for those of us who don't really like romance novels, but prefer fast paced action and scary serial killers.

If you've never read a Karen Rose thriller before, this is a great introduction and you'll find yourself wanting to get your hands on her other books as soon as possible. If you're already a fan, this is another cracking read. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Karin Slaughter, Beverly Barton, Lisa Gardner and similar authors.
