Manufacturer's Description
6 Great Game Modes!
1) NORMAL GAME
The Deal or No Deal PC game is identical to the award-winning TV show, allowing YOU to test your wits against The Banker. Join your host Noel Edmonds as you sit in the crazy chair and play for big money. Flash: Will you be a big winner?
2) MULTIPLAYER GAME
Up to 4 players can play in the Dream Factory, adding an exciting new twist to the game. Will you make a deal with The Banker before your opponents do, or will you play on in the hope of winning the biggest sum of money?
The ideal party game!
3) BANKER vs HUMAN
Now YOU can be The Banker! Will you make big money offers or will you be even meaner than the real thing? You decide, as you force your friends and family into making agonising decisions.
Make your opponents sweat!
4) BANKER vs PC
Experience life from the other end of Noel's telephone! Play as The Banker and try to make the computer contestant accept the lowest offer possible. This game mode is guaranteed to bring out the Scrooge in you.
Can you beat the computer?
5) CASH GAME
Play against your friends and family for smaller amounts of money. Boxes can be edited to contain as much, or as little, as you like. But rest assured, it will be just as difficult to win the big prize.
Unique feature!
6) FORFEIT GAME
Customise your game by picking the prizes that players can win. Finish the game with a power box and you will earn the right to be pampered. But watch out - end up with a blue box and you could find yourself arranging all of your partner's music CDs in alphabetical order!
Choose your own prizes!
Have you ever wondered how you'd fare in the crazy chair? Well this is your chance to take the walk of wealth on your PC!
Join host, Noel Edmonds in the Dream Factory and experience nail-biting gameplay that's identical to the TV show. In an exciting new twist you can also compete against friends and family to see who wins the most money.
With 22 identical boxes and a quarter of a million pounds at stake, you'll be desperate to have "just one more go". Especially as every player's performance is recorded for posterity on the Deal or No Deal leaderboard!
Feeling devious? Then you'll enjoy playing as The Banker and tempting contestants into accepting the lowest offer possible. There are six game modes, including the Forfeit Game where you can customise the prizes, and the Cash Game which lets you play against friends and family for smaller amounts.
It's your show. It's your game. Will you make the right deal at the right time, or will you walk away with 1p?
6 exciting game modes to test your wits!
Customer Reviews
A Masterpiece!
Alongside two lacklustre DVD games, this PC game is a blessing for Deal or No Deal fans. Unlike the disjointed, slow and disappointing dvd versions, this game is brilliantly designed, visually impressive and wonderfully continuous. Rather than seeing a dull table with boxes improperly placed in order, you find yourself in the proper studio, in the crazy chair and with the gameboard displayed in front of you.
Around you are the east and west wing, boxes randomly placed in front of contestants. The graphical design looks cartoonish to begin with but quickly becomes endearing. The gameplay itself is as close as you could hope to get to the real thing and most importantly of all, you'll find yourself immersed in the game and ultimately enjoying the experience.
The other forms of play are also fun. Banker vs. PC is enjoyable, although all my contestants thus far have dealt too soon. The cash and forfeit games are very inventive and, in theory, great for a small party.
One final thing I would say is that this game does require some good PC performance. The better your computer, the more smoothly it will run. If you have quite a low spec computer, you probably won't enjoy the game quite so much as the long pauses and jittery gameplay can get quite tiresome and spoil the entire reason this game is superior to its DVD counterparts.
Better than I thought but beware
I bought this today on impulse. I have just played it on my desktop PC which is a very powerful machine. It installed without any problems although I resent that the producers try to get you to register the game before installation. If you want to avoid registering you can just find the program on the CD and run it to install.
The game played very well on my main PC and the comments from others are certainly accurate. It would be great fun with a crowd and the excitement builds very nicely.
However, the main reason for writing this review is to caution anyone who my try to run this game on a low spec machine. First I tried it on a Sony laptop with Vista, the game would run the opening credits and then just freeze. I then tried another laptop running Windows XP. Unfortunately it would not run at all and just kept crashing the laptop. This was a surprise as its quite powerful and capable of running Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
So, make sure your computer is powerful enough and you will have a good experiemce with this game.
what a BRILLIANT Version :)
Well....................Just Got This Today, and I Have Been Playing It ALL Afternoon and Evening, a FANTASTIC Version and BY FAR The Most Dramatic Version Of ALL The games So far.
"Deal or No Deal " PC-Rom Version Has ALL the Dramatic Sounds Of The Actual show, Its CONTINUOUS As well, You Can Play The TV Version, The Banker Vs Human, Multiplayer, Forfeit Game ( Where you Play for Certain Slightly Mundane Prizes !! ) I Am HUGELY HUGELY Impressed, and Will DEFINATLY be Buying one Or Two As Christmas Pressies
