wonderfully interesting
This book is a great learning aid to discovering the workings of the Roman Empire, as well as being essential to several ou courses. It is relativly easy to navigate having worked out the indexing system. Well recomended.
Good, but not great
this book is a must if you are studying Latin or Classical Civilisation. The content is good on a huge range of subjects, although the index is not brilliant. The sources are detailed, but when quoting the author or source it is not as clear as it could be. It could be quite confusing when it comes to writing a bibliography. Overall, a very useful book to have in one's library.
