The best of the lot
As soon as we got the news, my husband and I bought a whole library of pregnancy books (OK, we were pretty excited!)But Pregnancy For Dummies gets my top marks. Its just so down to earth and covers way more stuff than the other books -especially with antenatal testing. It even covers my welfare benefits and rights! Really really good.
excellent book - cuts through all the myths you read in the press etc
when my wife recently got pregnant, we debated whether to buy a book or not. we decided not to until we saw this one. most of the other books i've seen are too "spiritual" - and frankly are for people who think they are better then everyone else because they are expecting. this book is practical, well laid out and non-judgemental. i reccomend it to men and women alike - u dont need anything else
More informative than any other book in my "library."
I found this book to be very realistic and less flowery than "What to Expect" and "Your Pregnancy Week By Week", even though the latter of the two was a very wise purchase. "Pregnancy for Dummies" was much more informative and seemed to give me more honest information on what things will really be like for the duration of my pregnancy. If you're looking for good books for the father-to-be, check out "The Father's Guide to Pregnancy" and "She's Having a Baby-and I'm Having a Meltdown". My husband is in another country right now and has no idea when he'll be back, so this is his way of keeping in touch with my pregnancy. As hard as it is be apart for him, these books ease his mind somewhat.
