About the Author
Mich Turner trained as a food scientist. She worked as a buyer at Harvey Nichols prior to founding Little Venice Cake Company in 1999, and together with her team has designed and produced numerous special cakes for celebrity, private and corporate occasions, including wedding cakes for Madonna, Pierce Brosnan, and Sir Paul McCartney. Other clients include David Beckham and HRH Prince of Wales. LVCC supplies M&S as well as the UK’s most prestigious hotels with special occasion cakes.

Simply Spectacular
I own in excess of 30 cake decorating books and this is by far the best book I've seen on the subject. Delicious recipes, concise instructions, inspiring contemporary and classical designs and beautiful photography throughout. This book would make the perfect present for someone with a passion for cakes.

Fantastic 'how-to' and a great source of inspiration
I bought this book after I looked at the author's website and was amazed by the beautiful cakes they make (www.lvcc.co.uk). I thought the book might be a good source of inspiration - I'm getting married in August and was toying with the idea of making our cake. Anyway, I was really impressed with this book as not only does it feature all the gorgeous cakes that I loved from the website, but it tells you how to make them too in a very clear way - I'm going to try one out for a birthday party this weekend. Trust me, if you are thinking of buying a book on party cakes - this is the one for you. Other books are okay for either decoration or baking, but this is the first one I've come across that cover both so well, as well as tips and techniques for presenting cakes. Happy cake making!

One of the best cake decorating books around!
This is a great book. The cakes are fantastic (even if some of the colours are not quite my taste). The designs are becoming classics in the world of cake decorating. Techniques and tips are explained clearly. The photographs are gorgeous. I would recommend this to anyone, beginner or experienced cake decorator. The only poor part are the designs for biscuits, they are nothing like the quality of the cakes (if you are looking for beautiful iced biscuits have a look at Peggy Porchen's book, her cakes are lovely too.) However I love this book and look at it regularly. Buy it.
