Absolutely Great Concert5
Living in the U.S., I don't get to attend Westlife concerts, so watching them perform on DVD recordings is the best I can do. It was worth the wait. The concert was magnificent, and it shows how much Westlife has matured as a live performance act. They have gone so far beyond "boyband" to become a mature vocal group with tight-knit harmonies and an easy grace on stage. With some new arrangements for some of their early hits, they were able to make me feel that I was hearing the songs for the first time -- and that's quite a feat in itself. Beyond the brilliance of the performance, they also looked like they were just having fun. And the announcement that they weren't breaking up was welcome news indeed! Once again, Westlife gives more than your moneys worth by including a great documentary and a couple of (albeit, rather tricky)games for extra footage. This is a great DVD for Westlife fans, and for anyone who just wants to watch an astoundingly great concert. I kept hoping they would release a DVD of their second concert tour, but this was definitely worth the wait! Thanks guys!

westlife- greatest hits tour 20035
Couldn't wait to sit down and watch this dvd, And it certainly didn't disapoint. After going to see the guys in concert earlier in the year it just brought all the memories flooding back. "those guys certainly know how to put on a good show" This dvd is well worth a watch (or two) wether your a westlife fan or not. Its got all the songs we all know and you won't be able to stop yourself singing along. For anyone who says westlife can't sing I challenge you to watch this dvd and then honestly tell me you still feel the same. As well as a fantastic concert the dvd has lots of little extras you can follow the guys at their pre tour rehersals and watch as the get ready for their hometown concerts in Dublin and Sligo. There are also bonus videos including there most recent hit Hey whatever, and a couple of games. This dvd wll keep you entertained for hours, I hope you enjoy this dvd as much as i did, I'm sure mine will be warn out soon.

Not bad, but good.4
Since we don't get much of anything to do with Westlife here in Australia, I waited patiently for my sister to send Westlife's Unbreakable Tour DVD from England. When it finally got to me, I put in the player straight away and pressed play. By the end of the DVD, and after the Special Features, I sometimes wonder if it was worth the wait.

The feature (actual concert) was amazing and goes against the common belief that Westlife are comfortable sitting on stools and singing their ballads. The show is a great mix of their trademark strong vocals as well as up-tempo stuff, especially in the medley section. As said in the documentary, the five guys had a lot of input as to how the show was put together, and I think their lively and refreshing ideas really shine through. This performance let all the guys do their thing.

The DVD however, to me, has been run through the editing room way too many times for viewers to really feel the atmosphere of the live concert. Instead, we get a kind of extremely long music video that cuts and fades, slows down and speeds up countless times. It works for the most part of the concert (mainly the Introduction), but it's a bit distracting.

The special features are limited but worth a look. The pre-Lansdowne Road documentary gives us insights into each of the band members' lives and personalities. We even get to see the inside of Bryan's house for a couple of seconds. There are also a few music videos in the special features, including Tonight, Miss You Nights, and Hey Whatever.

TO ACCESS THE SPECIAL FEATURES: just press the "next" button on your dvd remote and the main menu screen should move the the left and the special features come up. this is my othe rproblem with the actual DVD, it was a bit hard to navigate!

The picture quality is pretty ordinary when compared to other DVDs and even Westlife's first concert DVD "Where Dreams Come True", but I was glad that the DVD offered both stereo sound and Dobly Digital 5.1 Surround.

If you're not a Westlife fan, this DVD might change your mind. But having said this, their first DVD I mentioned above would probably have more of an impact. The Greatest Hits Tour lacks the elegance and style of the first, but makes up for it in the renditions all of their songs, allowing the old songs to be enjoyed in a different way.

Overall, I think the actual DVD is what brings it down. The content and concert are great, but are paled by annoying editing. Even so, I've seen it a few times already and have just let it play in the background as well. Check out "Where Dreams Come True" if you want to really see why the band has survived so long.
