A Man Rides Through - Stephen Donaldson4
I found the first book in this series, The Mirror of Her Dreams, absolutely fascinating although I have to admit at times it made me slightly exasperated. The endless excursions into the complex logic of betrayal and intrigue would have got a little wearing had it not been for the wonderful cast of characters Donaldson has created. In A Man Rides Through, however, the pace of action quickens considerably, as the writer brings together all the seperate storylines for a final and dramatic convergence. Donaldson's firm control of plot development and understanding of character make for a novel of great impact and psychological intricacy. These are the first novels I have read by Donaldson and I'm certainly planning to investigate further! A brilliant read.

Donaldson is the greatest modern fantasy author.5
This book is truly marvellous. Donaldson is an abolute genius, rivalled only by Hobb and Kay in current fantasy writing. The characters, plot, and everything else in this book is just about perfect. What more can I say - a modern classic........ ps read this. And the Gap series. Now.

Mirrors- not just for seeing yourself in5
Continuing the story of 'The Mirror of her Dreams', Terisa Morgan begins to realise the city of Mordant is a hotbed of Lies, Deceit, Corruption and Betrayal and not from without as previously believed, but from within the city itself.
She is the only one who can prove Geradens innocence and protect the land from the evil Imagers who seek to bring horrific creatures though their mirrors.
Plenty of action and fantastical creatures, also with a political edge. Definitely a 5 star read.
