The Breakfast Club meets Heathers in the anti-chicklit novel: a fabulously black comedy about identical twins struggling to eighteen in wealthy American suburbia.
Chloe and Sue, blonde and beautiful, have one problem: each other. However, when their parents abandon them their future becomes uncertain: how badly wrong can perfect girls go?
For everyone who loved Clueless or The O.C. and wonders why no book comes close, this is their novel. Funny, addictive, disturbing and redemptive, Twins is a deliciously twisted story of teenage dreams.

Wonderful, couldn't put it down.
The best book I've read in a while, this was a fascinating insight into the differences between apparently identical twins.
Chloe and Sue were born just 4 minutes apart, into a life of privilege. Unfortunately, although they appeared to have everything, they lacked one vitally important factor in their lives; parental love and affection. So that there are in fact two seams running through the book: the interaction between Chloe and Sue and the effect of the behaviour of their strange and extremely negligent parents.
Sue in in conflict within herself, She loves and admires her 'older, prettier, brighter' twin, but hates the feelings of inadequacy that Chloe engenders within her. She reacts with a desperate need to possess her, to the exclusion of all other people.
Chloe loves her twin, but needs space, she wants to make friends, even have a boyfriend, but Sue's possessiveness makes this impossible.
From this starting point Marcy Delinsky weaves a wonderful, poiniant novel that gripped me from the start. We follow the characters for 6 years, from age 12, through their teenage years. The interactions and changes between the characters are beautifully described and the end is satisfyingly believable.
The style of writing and the concentration on the teenage years was reminiscent to me of Jodi Picoult and I was not surprised to note that readers who bought this book also bought Picoult's work.
Definately recommended.
Bittersweet
I picked this up on a 3 for 2 offer purely because i liked the description that it was like 'The Breakfast Club meets Heathers' - i think this is a very accurate description. Each chapter is written in turn from each twin's point of view, which gives great depth to the characters. One of the twins is obsessed with her sister and this obsession leads to possessive, jealous & at times violent behaviour. It is a dark book, but well written and the characters were very real to me. At times funny, at other times dark and a little disturbing, it's a definite page-turner and highly recommended.
Twisted Sisters
When I picked up "Twins" it wasn't because it looked great - it was a snap decision. But, hell, a good one. "Twins" is one of those books you want everyone to read just so you can talk about it, and you don't ever want to finish it. It is the story of Sue and Chloe, polar opposites in all but their identical physicality. Their trials and tribulations are funny and heartbreaking and, in the end, fulfilling. It is a book for anyone who has ever loved someone. Chloe and Sue are well-rounded individuals, not just characters, and as they become more and more different, you will love them, as well as their supporters, like Smita and Rodney Markman. Buy this book today, disappointment is not an option!
