Tedious - nothing new here
I generally buy books recommended by friends, but this one was a birthday present from my mother. I'm afraid I found it badly written and rather dull, just another author trying and failing to emulate Tolkein. I made it to the end, but the last half of the book was a real chore and I certainly won't be reading anything else by Mr Stanek.

I was so there!
This book was recommended to me by a friend as being one of the best books that he's ever read - and, frankly, I'm glad that he did. It is a great book that keeps you enthralled till the end. Ifound it hard to put down - and you will too. I recommend it to most - if not all - fantasy lovers. It really makes you want to read the next in the series. Robert Stanek is a great writer who really knows how to entertain. Great Book!

A Must Read for Harry Potter & Tolkien Fans
Keeper Martin's Tale is one of my favourite books ever! Stanek has thought of every detail of the Ruin Mist world, and he makes it seem absolutely believable. The ending of the book was so gripping that it is difficult to not explode before the next book comes out! Overall, I think it was a brilliant book, and I can't wait for the next one!
