What a Great Combo!
Another Feng Shui book? Yes, but this one is different, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a life-coach book in that it helps you identify and then aim towards your life goals, with the help of Feng Shui.
Most people understand the concept of Feng Shui - that they change the layout of their environment and their lives improve automatically. That on its own may seem a little vague and unfocussed, and this new book addresses that.
The author's suggested approach is first to decide what it is you'd like to change about your life, then work out what internal (personal) changes you'd need to make in order to achieve what you want. Once you've defined your goals, find how Feng Shui will help you to get there then implement those environmental changes and see what happens. That's the basic premise, but as the book reveals, there are many parts to it. Intuition, energy-sensing, working with the Sun and the Moon as well as (of course) the eight directions and the use of colours, shapes, plants, lighting and space all combine to get the final result.
It's an easy read - and the author recommends reading the book quickly right through without analysing before you start making changes, just to get the hang of the concept.
Chapters - there are only four, but they contain all you need to know to get started: understanding life coaching, understanding energy, Feng Shui life-coaching tools, and finally room make-overs with eight-directional energy.
The glossary is brief, and has only around twenty entries, although the index is four pages long, and quite comprehensive. I liked the idea of `automatic leaning' but was disappointed to discover that it was a typo!
I would certainly recommend this book to anyone interested in self-improvement.
A very empowering book
Review of The Feng Shui Life Coach - author - Simon Brown
An excellent combination of Feng Shui and Life coaching - the two are essential pieces of life's jigsaw. As the author puts it "Before you start changing your home with Feng Shui, it is important to know what you want to achieve". This is vital when making changes internally (with life coaching) and externally (with feng shui).
The format of this book is refreshingly light and easy to follow - it gently brings you on a journey of self empowerment through feng shui and life coaching principles. I read it through in two days - it was so compelling and thought provoking. Now I am working through it for a second time, implementing many of the suggestions as I go.
This many layered book also gives an introduction to meditation and energy awareness - both your own energy and that of your environment. It looks at the subtle differences in the energy of the different compass directions, which gives the reader a real sense of connection to time and place - it enables you to make the theory tangible. It then gives you practical tools and examples of how to apply life coaching to your life and feng shui to your space.
Combining life coaching with feng shui gives a deeper connection to the changes you make in your environment. Having connected to your own life goals through life coaching you are creating the energy in your environment with feng shui that will copper-fasten that change in your life.
This is a very empowering yet easy to follow and gentle guide to synchronize your inner and outer worlds - an excellent read!
Feng Shui Life Coach: Become the Person You've Always Wanted to be with Feng Shui
Practical and straightforward whilst still sharing the magic of feng shui
At last, this book combines some of the effective tools of coaching whilst creating a relationship and seeing the patterns that exist between a human being and their environment. What I loved about Simons' book is the presentation. It is clear, concise and straight forward. The explanations of each of the different types of energy that exist in our environment are brought to life. The individual is always the changing factor in their environment and this book explains how to see the life changes; that happen and that are desired; reflected positively within the personal environment. Feng shui is such a valuable way of seeing our world.
