	Cyrano De Bergerac Buy new: £7.97 Classic love story beautifully depicted featuring possibily Depardieu's best performance as the famous poetic swordsman. Romantic, swashbuckling entertainment.
	Vatel [2000] (REGION 1) (NTSC) Buy used from: £6.99 Rich ornate baroque visuals. Features a hilarious performance from Murray Lachlan-Young. However, a terrible script and awful soundtrack prevent the viewer from making any emotional connections.
	The Libertine [2005] Buy new: £5.98 / Used from: £3.00 Worth watching to see Johnny Depp spout such words of filth as the notorious Earl of Rochester. Largely unengaging but with many excellent performances. Fanastic soundtrack by Michael Nyman.
	Restoration [1996] (REGION 1) (NTSC) Buy used from: £21.25 The first half of the film is a lively, decadent depiction of the court of Charles II with wonderful costumes, sets and amusing performances from Sam Neil & Robert Downey Jr. The second half is drab.
	The Draughtsman's Contract [1982] Buy new: £11.17 Highly stylised, erotically charged murder mystery. Complex to the point of impenetrability. Expert direction by Peter Greenaway and brilliant Michael Nyman soundtrack make it one of my favourites.
	Tous Les Matins du Monde [1991] (REGION 1) (NTSC) Equally as passionate in its depictions of love and music. Shows how a true artist cannot separate the two. Flows at a steady pace in order for us to truely savour the masterpieces contained within.
	Stage Beauty [2004] Buy new: £4.98 Romantic comedy about restoration theatre and gender confusion. Fun to see Rupert Everett as Charles II in drag! Rather frothy but interesting use of modern subject matter in a historcial setting.
	Le Bossu [1997] Buy new: £5.98 Fantastic dueling scenes in this fun, fast-paced swashbuckling adventure. Follows the traditional style of musketter films no longer made.
	Girl With A Pearl Earring [2004] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.49 Portrait of Dutch master Vermeer staring Colin Firth and Scarlet Johansen. Beautiful cinematography but not particulally riviting.
	Caravaggio [1986] Buy new: £11.17 Derek Jarman combines his passions for painting and film making in this erotic, atmospheric work. Stars Sean Bean and Tilda Swinton.
	The Three Musketeers [1973] Buy new: £5.97 / Used from: £3.99 1970's version of the classic Alexandre Dumas story. Staring Oliver Reed and Michael York. Sunday afternoon viewing.
	The Four Musketeers [1975] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £2.99 Sequel to the above.
	The Three Musketeers [1994] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.89 No Milady d'winter!? Thankfully Tim Curry as Cardinal Richileu makes up for this lack of baddie. Fun family flick. Plus Kiether Sutherland is HOT as swaggering Athos.
	The Musketeer [2002] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.65 Action sequences combine Kung-Fu style choreography with the traditional swishing of blades. Impressive stunts for sure, but I wasn't exactly on the edge of my seat for the rest of it.
	Moliere [2007] Buy new: £4.98 I haven't seen it yet!
	Le Roi Danse Buy new: £11.98 / Used from: £10.50 Soundtrack to the film 'Le Roi Danse.' Biopic of court composer to Louis XIV, Jean Baptiste-Lully. From the director of Farinelli. DVD not available on Amazon.co.uk
	Gunpowder, Treason And Plot [2004] Buy used from: £17.95 2-part drama showing the begining of the Stuart Dynasty. Part 2 (far superior to 1) depicts the early reign of James I and the gunpowder plot. Starring Robert Carlyle
	Charles II [2003] Buy new: £10.98 BBC drama series. 4-hour long episodes showing the reformation of Charles II played by Rufus Sewell. His wig is lovely.
	The Man In The Iron Mask [1998] Buy new: £4.48 / Used from: £1.48 Gerard, Jeremy and John. One for all and all for one.
