The wildlife pond handbook
Very attractive book with many large, full colour, illustrations. Quite a lot of pages devoted to descriptions of insects and other pondlife and their life-cycles. Although this was interesting, it was a large part of the book and I would have preferred to have more detailed information on the practicalities of dealing with problems in ponds and pond maintenance. I would describe this as a book for someone dreaming about having a wildlife pond in the future, rather than one for someone who has just inherited a big, smelly garden pond with nothing much in it.
A Must Read For All Wildlife Pond Creators and Owners
A fantastic book with loads of great illustrations. It supplies you with all the information that you need to create a wildlife haven in your garden. Unlike some books, this appears to be written by an expert in her field with an in-depth knowledge of the native species required to keep an ecosystem in a balanced healthy condition. A must for all those people who wish to create a sustainable wildlife pond that is healthy and long-lived, and not just a pretty quick fix as many books illustrate.
A joy to read.
Excellent wildlife guide
An excellent book showing that the writer has an in depth knowledge of wildlife that any natural pond will need. This is a book for those wanting to develop a true wildlife pond and the pictures and diagrams are excellent. A book for all those true wildlife pond owners.
