From the sick and twisted mind of Garth Ennis, co-creator of "Preacher", and the vicious pencil of Darick Robertson, artist of "Transmetropolitan", comes a darkly hilarious story that will change the way you look at superheroes forever! Hughie wants information, and for that, he'll need to talk to the Legend, the cantankerous caretaker of the secret history of superheroes. But he has a job to do first: re-kill the recently revived Blarney Cock! But will the Legend's answers help Hughie, or just deepen the mystery of Butcher's hatred for the Seven? This controversial series continues to explore the dark side of superheroics!

Customer Reviews
YEAH BOYS!
An excellent continuation of the series, this is the last volume before the highly antisipated mini-series: Herogasm, starts taking a huge effect in the story. Just buy it, you wont regret it
Best. Graphic Novel. Ever.
Yeah I know what you're gonna say... the best ever Graphic Novel is Watchmen. Or The Dark Knight Returns. Or any of the other usual suspects. I love those books too, but for me The Boys beats them all hands down. If you read and enjoy any kind of super hero books then The Boys turns everything you thought you knew on its head. Who watches the Watchmen? The Boys do and will dish out a damn good kicking if they step out of line!
Garth Ennis is really right at the top of his game here, following similar themes to some of his previous works but taking everything that bit further. The characters in this book (and its sequels) are believeable and engaging in a way almost unheard of in this kind of book. Its got sex, its got drugs and its got lashings of ultra-violence and its all handled with a great sense of humour, what more could you want? By the end of this book you'll have totally stopped dreaming about being a superhero and will want to join The Boys!
Five stars is just not enough for this one!
good form
this is the 3rd installment from our anti heros and its keeping the pace up nicely. good character development on hughie and butcher, plot unfurling nicely with some background on butcher and "the homelander" and what happened to "the lamp lighter". here we are getting a feeling of our story settling in to a nice epic, plenty questions still left to answer like the pasts of frenchie and the female to answer, and unless ennis suffers from any major lapses in creativity or storytelling, i will be continuing to buy this series. really enjoyable. my only concern is that it goes on for too long like the preacher, time will tell....
