Flawed design
I was quite pleased with the look of this item and approached the first use with confidence. However when mounted on an extending flash bracket with the curly cable partly extended, the cable tension caused the tiny screws in the flashgun end to be ripped out and the unit to fall apart. Having tried out a friend's Canon cord on the same setup, the design and build quality may be worth the extra cash.

Compatible flash cord
This does just what it says, there is also a tripod attachment on its base so the remote flash can be secured for studio work. I am using it with an EOS 400D and 580EXII speedlite

Does what it has to
It is a bit too plastic, when you mount it on the camera you can feel the difference comparing to the flash mount itself. Otherwise it is very good product, that does what it has to. I use it with 580 II and it works well. Good for beginners like me. Made in China
