Awesome
This is my first joystick so have nothing to compare it to, but I love it. I'm using it with FS2004...I was willing to pay a bit more for a good product, and this joystick feels well built, responds well, has more buttons than I know what to do with, installed easily and makes the flight sim a dream to use. The bases are weighty so you can throw the the joystick around and they don't move off the desk - although there are suction pads if you really want to stick it down. Don't waste your money on a cheap joystick, shell out for the best.
Excellent
I read many 'iffy' reviews about this product before buying, mostly down to it having 'too many functions', 'too complicated' or it being 'twitchy' no matter how many adjustments you do. However for some reason I felt this stick was being hard done by and I took the plunge anyway!!
I must admit, the range of options on it makes it very daunting, but I feel that this is not a purchase for the casual gamer, if you want 'plug and play' look elsewhere. But if you can persevere with the button mapping and get your head around it this is one hell of a stick!
Once I mapped a profile for use with Lock On, it was a dream to use. The buttons on mine are all very responsive and well placed, and the 'pinkie' button's distance from the trigger is fully adjustable, unless you have buckets for hands it should be adjustable for everyone.
Its been 18 months and I haven't had a second's trouble with this kit. It's complicated, yes its big, yes it's fairly heavy in comparison, but its sturdy and you can knock it about without too much worry. These features for me make it feel like a 'proper' stick. It doesn't slide all over the place like others do, and after tweaking with the dead zones I've found it incredibly responsive and very smooth, maybe the other reviewers have had a 'dud'?!
Additionally, if that's not enough it's a stunning design and looks amazing.
Oh...and it GLOWS neon blue people!! Not that that should influence your decision...but still!!
Awsome, buy today!
OK what can I say, this stick has more functions and abilities than you can shake a stick at. It feels good; it's very responsive with no spikes. It's a good sturdy unit and finally they got rid of the NASTY rocker on the throttle (That was on the X45) that was supposedly used as rudder input but which nobody liked. Now we have a twist stick which is far better.
The programmability of this stick is awesome, not only can you program single or multiple key strokes into a button on the stick and throttle. But you can also SPLIT the slider on the throttle and dials. What this means is this...
If you have a game which has a button for Afterburner, you can set 95% of the throttle to be used as a standard throttle, and the last 5% to activate the Afterburner button. You can do this on ANY of the sliders and dials.
I got a game which uses keys 0 to 9 for 10% increases in flaps.
I just split the large DIAL on the throttle 10 times and put each key number in each section, now the dial activates each flap button as it passes though. The programming interface is self explanatory and very easy to use.
Looks good, feels good, IS good.
