Manufacturer's Description

Ultimate Traffic was one of the first "AI" upgrades to Flight Simulator and has been widely regarded as the best, with 10,000s of satisfied flight simmers around the globe.

What set's Ultimate Traffic from any other similar program, is that it is still the only AI traffic expansion to provide realistic traffic in Flight Simulator, based on actual airline schedules!

Ultimate Traffic 2007 - The goal of this project is to provide FSX users with the most complete and realistic real-world airline movements worldwide and offer new levels in AI Traffic design.

Beginners can simply jump in and compile their traffic, but for those that enjoy the hobby of AI traffic, we have many tools to help you do this. Even if we did not ship any models or liveries, you could use our tools to build an advanced traffic system based on the included real-world traffic schedule, or your own custom schedule.

Loaded with features and tools... Assign aircraft, airlines, parking, tail numbering rules, print timetables and check departure boards, or simply load and fly with more traffic than you can imagine!

400,000+ Real-Time Scheduled Flights - Ultimate Traffic will provide users over 400,000+ scheduled flights based on real airline timetables.

100's of Airlines Worldwide - Ultimate Traffic contains over 700 aircraft repaints of various worldwide air carriers, both big and small. The package contains over 40 aircraft model.

3000+ Airports with Traffic - Ultimate Traffic provides users with AI traffic for over 3,000 airports.

Aircraft Assignment Tool - You can add, delete, and assign aircraft types, with full airline and call sign assignment support for all the scheduled flights

Status Board - This additional tool allows you to see what aircraft are currently at an airport, and it looks and functions similarly to the real arrival and departure boards you see at the airports

Online Updater/Enhancement Tool - Ultimate Traffic is the first flight simulation add-on to provide a 'one-click' updater to provide users easy access to download new aircraft, program updates, updated airline schedules, new airport files, and additional aircraft repaints.

Fully Featured Interface - The interface was made to handle the needs of both novice users and power users by providing a whole host of options and features.

Text-O-Matic (TOM) - The now "famous" utility allows users to add additional airline liveries of their own creation or those that are shared across the Internet to provide even more airlines and variety in the Ultimate Traffic environment

Printable Timetables - Ultimate Traffic also provides users with printable airline timetables and the ability to print airport-specific timetables of the AI traffic that are included in the package.

Community Packager - Another utility that is included is a new tool that will allow members of the flight simulator community to share their repaints and additional AFCADs directly with other Ultimate Traffic users.

Ultimate traffic 20075
Impressive; is just one of the words to describe this add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004/FSX. For anybody who wants to improve the effect and the realism of flight traffic around the world, Ultimate Traffic 2007 is a must buy.

It works along a similar basis as FS Global 2008 (another impressive add-on for FS 2004/FSX), in that it enhances the standard traffic systems across the globe, by replacing the default flights that Microsoft provide, with real world equivalents. For instance, you can watch a British Airways 737 take off from a runway at Luton airport in real life, and then watch it on Microsoft Flight Simulator 30 minutes later, exactly as it happened. This can, if you want, happen all across the globe, but UT 07 lets you adjust what airliners you want to appear and at what airports, using a very simple and easy to use interface that even novices will be able to understand. All of the official airliner's timetables for 2007 are also provided with the add-on, so if there is a particular flight you want to observe, then you can set up Flight Simulator to arrange it for you, which I find handy.

Installation is quick and trouble free, and it only takes up a relatively small 1.3GB of disk space considering the amount of potential is gives. To keep up to date with new flight plans and airliners, you can also download updates from the developers website (www.flight1.com) so that you can always stay ahead of the game. There are also lots of other good add-ons from this specialist as well on the website.

The possibilities with this add-on are greater than any other add-on I have bought previous to this. And, unlike FS Global 2008, it's far cheaper to buy. There are, like other add-ons, a couple of drawbacks to this one however, but they are very small. At larger airports, such as Heathrow, you may notice a very small drop in frame rates due to the extra traffic being added (1fps to 3fps). And second, I haven't yet found a way to fly the exact flight plans that real life airliners fly (I imagine it's top secret), but you could always follow one of the planes to where you wanted to go to. But other than that, it's faultless!!

What a let down!!!1
I tried to install this in Windows Vista as an add on to Flight Sim FX. After putting the disk in I got the install screen but the 'install to FX' button did nothing. I got into the disk via My computer/explore, and loaded the software that way. However, after assuming it had loaded correctly, and re-started my machine as per the instructions, clicking on the icon produced a message similar to 'invalid licence' or 'no licence'. This was a a sealed/packaged product!. I returned it to Amazon who promptly sent me another, and EXACTLY the same thing happened!!. To ensure I was not doing anything incorrectly, I went on the manufacturers website, where I discovered a list of things to do if it didn't load properly in Vista - none of which worked!!! Appears from blogs that many people have encountered this. Mine has gone back for a refund. Very, very poor design from the developers, as all my other add-ons work absolutely fine.Ultimate Traffic: 2007 Edition (PC DVD)

OK, but there is better3
This is an OK add on for FSX, but there are quite a few textures missing, as a result you have quite a few "Flight 1" aeroplanes parked up at airports. Of course you can choose not to compile those planes without a texture, but then you have less traffic. Or, if you so wish, you can download and update those planes without a texture, but this is somewhat very tedious, requiring you to mess about with this file and that file... So, YES it does generate lots of traffic, but some of those don't look right and are immersion breaking for me personally.

In my opinion, World of AI, have a greater product (and it is completely free!) I won't go into World of AI review here as this is not the place but have a search and see for yourselves.
