Product Description

A team of Flight Instructors who talk to you, giving you immediate, detailed advice on your flying technique. Unique scoring system rates all phases of flight: taxi, take off, cruise, approach, landing and much more. Fly a whole flight or just practice landings - you always receive a detailed score. Your flights and their scores are tracked in full detail in your own FSFlyingSchool logbook. Submit your best scores to the FSFlyingSchool web site to show off your flying skills to the rest of the world. Focuses on airmanship and recording your achievements. Track your progress as you improve - take satisfaction from doing difficult things correctly. Works with dozens of the Flight Simulator community's favorite aircraft - add your own in minutes. FSFlyingSchool's Career Analyzer provides an in depth analysis of all flights flown with FSFlyingSchool. This unique graphic display examines over 70 different aspects of the pilot's performance during landings, circuits and flying in general. Each pilot in the FSFlyingSchool pilot roster can be examined separately, with options to examine flights in specific aircraft, or all aircraft together. Use the Career Analyzer to find areas of your performance which need attention and concentrate on getting them just right. Areas such as Landing Vertical Speed and Rough Turns are good places to start. Highest scores come from good airmanship, often in challenging weather, with the least automation, but you can fly at whatever level is comfortable. From a Cessna 172 landing in a thunderstorm to an FMC controlled flight in a Boeing 747, FSFlyingSchool can handle them all. Instant tests of your airmanship: ask the instructor to immediately test your skills. File a flight plan - follow it carefully to score more points. Large selection of options allow you to configure FSFlyingSchool your way.

Customer Reviews

A great help learning to fly FSX and FS2004 the right way!5
Although the flying lessons in FSX and FS2004 (FS9) are really good, you can only do them at fixed locations where they are based. You can't fly around your favourite places and get evaluated there.

Then came FSFlyingSchool!

You can fly practice circuits at your favourite airfields and get constant evaluation from your instructor who talks you through the whole thing.

He (or she) will stay with you on all your flights whenever you want an instructor along, in either a light or a 'heavy' aircraft.

One of the best features of this add-on is that it simulates all kinds of failures that are not built into FSX or 2004. Loads of instruments and switches can randomly malfunction, fuel can leak, engine problems - you name it, but it's up to you how many problems you want to handle so you can set your own level of difficulty and go with that.

I really like this program and just don't fly without it any more. It's great value too because I used it for 2004 (FS9) and then didn't need to pay more for the FSX version. The guys who make it keep upgrading it too for free (10 times!) - what a deal! One of the best add-ons I've ever seen and it's not just me who thinks so because they've got loads of good recommendations in the reviews by the big magazines and by the AVSIM and FlightSim web sites.

Why fly alone...?5
Whoa - this product lists a great number of features and I have to say that having used it with both FS2004 (FS9) and FSX it really does what it claims to do.

You've got 5 instructors to choose from, each with their own quirks. They all talk to you throughout the flight, letting you know when you are getting into trouble or just plain flying poorly. You soon learn how to do things the right way!

They monitor everything you're doing when you're up there flying with them and they don't miss anything. Once you've landed, you get a full evaluation in your two log books, each with their own format. You can also review your entire career with over 70 graphs of different aspects of your performance.

The options available allow you to configure it just the way you want. You can even turn off the instructor's voice if you want - you will still get all the evaluation.

Some people think this is just for light aircraft - no! I've flown 747s and Cessnas and enjoyed it all. Before using FSFlyingSchool I never could quite get the hang of landing the really big stuff, but now I do it all the time.

The best part is that they keep upgrading the product for free, I think it's 8 times since it was released. In each new upgrade there's been cool new features. Oh - and remember that it works with FS2004 and FSX, so you don't have to buy a new FSX version like you do with lots of other software.

Their support is really great too - you get answers on the forum really fast and often get emails directly from the designers.

The web high score tables are also cool, if you're the best then you can prove it to everyone else.

Flying circuits really has you on your best behaviour. It's hard to pass that test, but it can be done!

This product adds a whole world of immersion to the sim that is very much appreciated. I don't fly alone any more...

I can't recommend this add-on enough and I look forward to seeing what they're going to put into it next!

Fly realistically with FSX5
This add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator provides a variety of extra features such as a selection of in-cockpit instructors (with voice feedback), detailed flight assessment, and scoring for flights / circuits / landings (my personal favourites).

FSFlyingSchool has pointed out lots of areas that I'm a bit rusty in when flying with FSX. Before using FSFlyingSchool I was completely unaware of these mistakes and FSX would just let me get away with them!

It's well worth the money, especially as they provide free upgrades to new versions. I originally purchased v1.6, and have upgraded to v1.7 and v1.8 for free.
