Manufacturer's Description

Realistic scenery is all very well, but there really is no substitute for the real thing! Just Flight's VFR Real Scenery is an incredible program that uses the very latest digital aerial images of the UK to transform Flight Simulator X into the real landscape you can see from the air. We've teamed up with Infoterra Ltd, a leader in the provision of aerial data, for the use of the GeoPerspectives Countrywide archive, and the result is four brilliant photographic scenery packages for Flight Simulator X that bring the real landscape straight to your PC. With pin-sharp resolution, impressive night lighting and 'real' water effects, this scenery is a must-have for anyone who wants their virtual aviation to be as realistic as possible!

Thumbs up for VFR scenery4
Having used the product for a few weeks now I can say I am very pleased with it.

Whilst the graphics of the photographic scenery may not be quite as good as the photorealistic scenery they are still very good (think 6Megapixel image compared to a 10Megapixel) but I am only comparing screenshots. From 1000+ ft it pretty much becomes irrelevant anyway.

Where this truly shines though is the mesh data. I actually have proper hills and cliffs and the photo scenery won't provide this. Even rivers are in channels the only minor problem is with bridges as the terrain changes to bridge height (to draw the bridge) then drops back to water level afterwards. No flying upside down under these bridges..... Some are modelled properly though, but they tend to be the larger bridges.

If you are flying VFR a lot then I would also recommend downloading the freeware VRP (Visual Reference points) package called UKANO1 and UKANO2 which have large masts and flashing beacons over recognized VRP's for the whole country.

past the edge3
this has not bad look to it once you get the patch to stop the blue ??? run it on remote drive and have 4gb memory does not slowdown.
