CD Description
1990's BEHIND THE MASK found Fleetwood Mac entering their fourth decade of recording and was the band's first post-Lindsey Buckingham album. Replacing Buckingham were Billy Burnette, formerly of Mick Fleetwood's side project The Zoo, and ex-Bob Seger/Jackson Browne guitarist Rick Vito. These new members helped resurrect the Mac once more as they collaborated with old members in writing new songs. One of the best tracks on the album is the Tex-Mex "When The Sun Goes Down", co-written by Vito and Burnette.
Christine McVie proved to once again be the anchor in Fleetwood Mac, as a number of her songs formed the core of BEHIND THE MASK. These include a number of songs co-written with new husband Carlos Quintana, like "Skies the Limit" and "Save Me" (the band's first Top 40 hit of the '90s). In addition to writing with Rick Vito, Stevie Nicks offered "Freedom", a song co-written with Heartbreaker Mike Campbell. These were her last studio contributions to Fleetwood Mac before her departure from the band three years later.

FANTASTIC5
This is a return to rock for mac. This 1990 lineup followed onto the Rumours style. The previous album "Tango in the Night" was more poppy and commercial than any other and this follow up returns to the rock! The absence of certain band members doesn't matter as Stevie Nicks and Christie McVie together take the album to Classic status with their fantaatic voices and amazing writing tallents. Nicks and McVie have 2 very different styles of writing and both styles are demonstrated here on "Behind The Mask". A must forany Mac fan.

fine album!4
this is a very good fleetwood mac album.although it is not as commercial as some of their other albums such as rumours and tango in the night.
it grows on you after a nimber of listens.

Bloody good!4
This album sees the mac returning to ture rock form, after the somewhat poppy 1987 album 'Tango in the night', 'behind the mask' brings back a more serious and mature musical edge. Nearly as good as rumours, but not quite.
