DVD Description

On the Balls Of Steel - Complete Series 1 DVD, Host Mark Dolan ("The Richard Taylor Interviews") puts a team of comedians and performers to the ultimate test: who has the biggest 'Balls of Steel'? His special guests are always keen to prove themselves, whether it be by performing death-defying stunts, holding their nerve during hidden camera set-ups, or being juvenile and behaving stupidly in the presence of celebrities.

Synopsis

Described by The Guardian as 'puerile, stupid and very, very funny', Balls Of Steel - Complete Season 1 takes the laws of good taste and decency, and happy-slaps them into submission. The premise is simple: special guests are invited on the show and then required to perform a series of dangerous and degrading tasks (which often include demonstrating anti-social behaviour and annoying celebrities). Then it's up to the audience to decide who has the biggest 'Balls of Steel' by voting on a keypad. Rocket science it ain't, but a load of laughs it is!

Funniest Show Ever!!5
I think Balls of Steel is quite possibly one of the funniest shows to ever be put on tv. Sure you have Mind of Mencia and stuff like that but that's usually just ONE comedian. With BOS you get a whole array of different ordinary people playing pranks.

My favorite is the Annoying Devil. It really stinks for us in the States because it's only region 2. For us here we may never be able to own this outstanding series.

Thank goodness for Youtube!!

We here in the U.S. should have our own show like this. I think it'd be hella tight and get great ratings. Comedy Central. ;)

This is extremely funny so if you're in the states head on over to Youtube and search for it. If you're in the UK then lucky you, you get to buy this DVD.

My 2 cents.

Amazing Show5
This show is quite possibly one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Neg's urban sports is definitely my favorite segment. I have only seen clips on youtube because I live in the states and it is not broadcast here but if it were it would make me very happy. Now I just need to figure out a way to get a PAL DVD to work across the pond.

Not "Complete Season 1" but only a "Best Of Season 1" unfortunately.3
Not "Complete Season 1" but only a "Best Of Season 1" unfortunately.

Despite the listing here, this product is only a "Best of Season 1" and not as described "Complete Season 1". Description act breaches aside, like all "Best of" comedy dvds, this one is more annoying than the annoying devil as watching it will just remind you of all the scenes and sketches that are missing...which of course you'll remember from when you saw it on TV first time round. What's here is good, but where's the rest of the show? And who decides which bits are "best"? Hence 'best of' Dvd's are annoying.(I'm looking at -you- 'Best of Adam & Joe'; 'Best of Trigger Happy 1,2,3'; 'Best of Smack the Pony'; 'Armstrong & Miller' etc).

Hopefully one of these days there really will be a DVD release of "Balls of Steel" that deserves the description of "Complete Season 1". (Those Leicester Square scenes live on in wonderful infamy!).

Complete Seasons 2 an 3 an onwards would be most welcome...then Balls of Steel can join the ranks of other comedy shows whose 'Complete DVD's really are COMPLETE![Much love to ya 'complete' dvd's out there: Fonejacker; Brass Eye; Jam; Day Today; Big Train; Bo Selecta; Vic Reeves Big Night Out; Sealab 2021; Dream On; Robot Chicken; Police Squad. Thank you for your complete completeness as I first watched you on TV, it's great to view you again the way I remember you!].

Get with the program, Balls of Steel! Release DVD's that really are the complete seasons!
