Customer Reviews

A joyfully and typically Italian load of balls!4
The DVD is split into three main parts: The history of Milan, the legends and the great victories.

The history section is hindered by a shortage of decent footage from the early days up to the 1960s. The DVD is a good three years old now so you won't see anything of the likes of 'Kaka, but if you want to relive the Arrigo Sacchi/Fabio Capello epoch with Van Basten/Gullit/Baresi et al then you won't be disappointed.

The legends features a five minute or so profile of Baresi, Van Basten, Gullit, Baresi, Maldini plus shorter profiles of Gianni Rivera, Nils Liedholm and Jose Altafini - understandable given the footage available.

The great victories include all the European Cup final wins (pre-Juventus 2003), Intercontinental Cup, Cup Winners Cup plus domestic wins over Maradona's Napoli and thrashings of Inter and Fiorentina.

Overall, it's a good DVD. You can switch the audio and the menu text between Italian and English.

I suppose the only drawback is the cheesy soundtrack and the awful English narration, which appears to have been translated from the Italian by an 11-year old armed with a pocket dictionary! However, this does lend some unintentional amusement.

As I said, if you want action from 2000 onwards, don't bother, but the coverage of the glory days of the late 1980s/early 1990s is excellent.

good but not great3
i bought this dvd thinking it would provide more recent history of a.c. milan but no, they started from the very beginning of a.c. milan's history and most of the dvd talks about the 50s, 60s and 70s and only has about 5 minutes from 1995 to 2001.
plus all menus are in italian.
it is still quite interesting though and i would still have bought it if i knew what it was going to be like and also it's quite funny seeing some of the top managers like ruud guillit and vialli and the italy manager in their playing days.
