Product Description

In 1973, Norma Cobb, her husband Lester, and their five children, the oldest of whom was nine years old and the youngest, twins, barely one, pulled up stakes in the Lower 48 and headed north to Alaska to follow a pioneer dream of claiming land under the Homestead Act. The only land available lay north of Fairbanks near the Arctic Circle where grizzlies outnumbered humans twenty to one. In addition to fierce winters and predatory animals, the Alaskan frontier also drew society's more unsavoury elements. But through it all, the family survived on the strength of Norma Cobb - a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds and whose courage in the face of mortal danger is an inspiration.

Amazing book5
I could not put this down, it was such an enjoyable read and got into this from page one. I just wish Norma had written more books about this family's pioneering life in their valley in Alaska, it was breathtaking not only to read their survival but the description of their surroundings. This book I would hope deserves to be in the top 10 best sellers, I wish Noma Cobb and her husband and family so much for their future as this book leaves you thinking about them and the amazing years they have gone through, I would hope they are still in their log cabin and writing more books. I wanted this book to go on forever.
