Things that make you go hmmmm.5
I looked at this book because I heard a lot about it and wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was all about. My first clue that this book was a horse of a different color was when I found it in the "metaphysical" section of the bookstore.

I have to be honest though, I never made it through the whole book. It centers around this "spirit" called Abraham and all the advice and teaching it gave to the authors.

Definitely for the "New Age" crowd, if this kind of thing interests you, then for the type of book that it is, its a good one. The book has 22 sections, whose purpose is to help you achieve your goals in life by asking you some reflective types of questions- which I did find motivating. Although not my cup of tea, the book is quite popular and I can recommend it to anyone looking for something different and inspiring. For readers who like more conventional books in the self-help genre, I recommend The Sixty-Second Motivator.

The book that changes life...5
...if you only follow the instructions! Processes are easy and usually fun (they do work, although they might seem crazy when you read them). I do recommend!

The concept behind this book is fascinating, but it is overly complicated and technical3
I had been looking for something, a book, that could give me guidance on how to live better. I have to say to say that when my work friend bought this book to work and told us all about it, I was gripped by the premise; basically the authors say that they're in contact with a number of good spirits, who channel their energies through one main spirit called Abraham. Abraham communicates guidance from the universe, and the authors write it down to share in their book. Similar to Neale Donald Walsch writings in 'Conversations with God.' In the book is advice from 'Abraham' on how to live, and how to deal with a number of life situations. On the whole it has a positive living message.

What I didnt like so much was that the book had a lot of jargon that I was totally unfamiliar with. Information on the science of 'personal vibrations' and 'frequencies' left me cold and I definately feel it will be a challenging read to an outsider.

Since then Ive read a book 'The Ultimate guide to Cosmic Ordering' by Andronicou that covers similar ground, and I have to recommend to anyone taking their first steps to life-betterment. Although you may find 'Ask and it is Given' a bit heavy going, the Abraham theme means its definately worth a look.
