A good choice.5
This is a good choice for a dieting book in that it really gives you the information that you need and, more inportantely, how to use the infomation. Of course, this one is also about a lot of change, which can sometimes be hard, but I think it will be well worth it. It's putting in the time to change and lose weight and also changing behavior patterns. It's a good, solid choice for a diet plan. I also liked Goodbye, Fatty! Hello, Skinny! How I Lost Weight And Still Ate The Foods I Loved-Without Dieting as well.

I bought Marisa Peer's Book, You CAN be Thin, after seeing my twin sister shrink by at least 2 stone over a few months. I was so amazed at her appearance that I asked her the secret. She told me about the book and the hypnosis CD that comes with the book. I went out that very day and bought it.

For years I have struggled with my weight. I used to be slim and fit until I was about 35 and then suddenly, for a lot of reasons too boring to go into, I started to suddenly gain weight. In the end I gained 7 stone over 15 years! Needless to say, I have been miserable and being miserable made me gain even more weight. I failed at every diet I tried which compounded the issue and I became more and more convinced there was nothing I could do about it. I did know, inside me, that I needed to change my thinking and not go on another stupid diet. I just did not know how to change my thinking.

This book changed all that. It is written in an hypnotic style which works on you without you even realizing it. And it is also filled with excellent information that backs up the hypnosis. Marisa gets you to identify the triggers you have around food, the kind of eater you are, how you think and feel about food and, consequently, yourself. As you go through the exercises, it becomes more and more clear where the problems lie. For me, one of the most important things I learned was that I was filling up an empty hole inside me where I did not feel enough. Just by telling myself 'I am enough' all day and especially before I eat, I have noticed a significant difference in how I approach food. Instead of feeling like I need to eat much more than necessary or worrying about when I am going to eat next, I find myself not really thinking about food now other than when I am hungry.

I learned about the importance of language and how what you say to yourself makes things true. Saying to yourself that you are a fat pig makes it true and then you live up to that by eating like a pig. I found that reading the book and listening to the CD every day has changed how I speak to myself, how I feel about myself and, consequently, how I eat.

I was also very lucky to be able to go on one of Marisa's seminars and I learned even more there. In person, she is as unjudgemental and as warm as she is in her book. You just know you can trust her.

After reading the book, I no longer eat any wheat and, guess what, I no longer take Nexium for gastric reflux disease! It was the bane of my life and now I am free of pain. I no longer eat dairy products made from cow's milk and have noticed that my digestion in general has improved immensely just from that. I also gave up sugar. The amazing thing about all this is that I don't miss any of it at all!!

The bottom line is that I feel healthier, happier, am sleeping better and have shrunk by 7lbs in 3 weeks. Actually, I am not worried about getting slim now, like I used to be. I know I will be slim again and just knowing that makes me so much happier.

If you do nothing else in your life, buy this book. It will change your life forever.

My whole life I feel I have been on a diet - I have tried everything, cabbage soup, silly powders, counting points, red and green days - every fad! With Marisa's book I finally feel that I have put an end to those days - there is no faddyness about it just practical tips - taking away all the myths -
I purchaced this book two weeks ago and have already lost the 6lbs that I put on over Christmas plus an additional two from before that! And I don't even feel like I am dieting - this is going to be my new way of life - I love the CD, which I didn't even know it came with but has been a massive support and made everything easier!
