'...accessible and methodical guide to the creative prerequisites of picture editing... the author writes mainly for the beginner but with a clarity which will be refreshing for the experienced practitioner.'
In the Picture, April 1995

'The title might suggest an abstract or theoretical approach but Grammar of the Edit is an accessible and methodical guide to the creative prerequisites of picture editing. The author writes mainly for the beginner but with a clarity which will
be refreshing for the experienced practitioner who seeks to disseminate her or his craft to a learner group.' - in the picture, April 1995

'..this must rate at the best book on editing I have red. Novice editors can confidently use it as the their bible, whilst experienced editors, already using the techniques instinctively, will enjoy the analytical approach.'

brilliant to grasp the concept of how to really edit4
I'm a second year student on a media production degree and this book helped me make a short film that is being entered into a student film compettition - and it's my first film!

Indebted to the quality and clarity that this book provides, do not underestimate the power of simplicity. This book's only 120 odd pages, but it's enough to last you for many films.
