Very Informative and practical for all experience levels
The Horse Lover's Bible: The Complete Practical Guide to Horse Care and Management
Whilst my partner is an experienced rider in both competition and leisure and through her passion, whilst a relatively new starter it is now a major commitment in my life as well. This is a really useful book and one of the better ones I have come across within the library of horse books we have. It is geared towards people like me who know a bit about horses, but want to learn more though also useful to the experienced rider judging by the comments from my partner. The health and first aid section in particular is really comprehensive, and I the way the author stresses not to panic and to use common sense at all times provides the reassurance that you sometimes lack when in the stable amongst your peers. The photos are also really helpful in illustrating the text, especially with regard to show turn out, something that i am now considering. Its a great hands on approach to looking after horses and I like the way the author explains the horse in its natural environment and how this should be considered when dealing with the horse in the unnatural environment of the stable yard. Definately a book to keep near at hand.
Invaluable Horse Bible
This is a superbly comprehensive book covering the whole spectrum of horse care written by someone who clearly has had long experience handling and working with them. Useful hints and details sit alongside general advice on equine welfare, it really informs on every page. Whether you are a professional or amateur horse owner you would learn and enjoy reading this book. It is perfect for teenagers/young adults too, who may well be starting out with ponies and horses and need a reliable and informative 'Bible' from which they can learn and absorb valuable knowledge. Truly Invaluable.
Exactly what I was looking for
Went searching for some *real* advice on this subject and having browsed through the local bookshops and looked at some of the other titles on this topic, this book really stood out as the most accessible, thorough, and fun to read. The author's clear writing style makes information simple to find and there is a great deal here that you won't find in similar tomes. Complete really means complete! It definitely appeals to all ages as it seems to be slow to return from "borrowers" of a younger disposition!
