Move over Domingo, Carreras, Pavarotti !!
Where do I begin? Okay! I have never heard the song "Mystic Lipstick" and I thought that was a very beautiful ballad, loved the lyrics and the harmonies especially. Sung with a lot of emotion and passion; but then again; This has become the trademark sound of the Celtic Tenors; Passion, professional, emotional and if you like a more boisterous song, "Phil the Fluter's Ball", that is and always be a major hit with the audiences..
I'm just back from seeing them in the Cork Opera House and what an amazing performance from all three lads. Niall sang "Caruso", and here's where Domingo moves aside please!! Matthew as always sings "The Contender" with extreme passion and emotion, that when he's finished singing the last few notes, there always seems to be a controlled silence in the audience as one waits for another to start the applause.. Well done, to the new Carreras. To James, a powerful performance on "O Sole Mio" and of course; beautiful diction and timing as ever.. Time for Pavarotti to make his exit!!
When I reviewed "So Strong" before I suggested it that it's more than a good idea to see the lads live; as they are brilliant. Beautiful singing from Deirdre, David on piano; fantastic as all the musicians are. I love the guitar and drums! Final word to their manager Pat Egan; you're doing a great job, you're very focussed and their success is your success too.
So, em .... when's the next album out???? !!
Fantastic Album!!
Hi! I am another one of those people who like to read reviews about new cd's and books before parting with me hard earned cash; but I'd just like to say this! I too think "Phil The Fluter's Ball" is brilliant! Really hoppy! No wonder the audiences go mad for it. I never tire of listening to the other two CT albums and now it's great to have the latest one and with so many tracks as well. It must have been brilliant experience for the lads to record with the legendary Dubliners and then again I hope they feel the same way after recording with the Celtic Tenors; who are becoming legends in their own right. I love "Mary of Dungloe", beautifully sung; "Fields of Athenry", the harmonies in that are just perfect.
The lovely gentle voice of James singing "Molly Malone"; really nice and to top it off "Remember Me". Delighted to hear a live version of that; and if I'm not mistaken is that Phil Coulter's voice on record saying "Remember Me/Recuerde Me"?? I think it is...
Anyway I think we'll be seeing a lot more brilliant reviews from around the world. Especially like Candlebridge's review which prompted me to buy one of the other CT albums' before. The only thing left to say is that one can get a bit greedy now; it's like I'm expecting a new album next year from the lads and no doubt it will be brilliant as always; what pressure! Keep up the good work!!! Well done to your Scotty Musical director!!
