Who could forget them?5
The new CD from The Celtic Tenors, called 'Remember Me'.I got it, as I collect everything they sing. Starting with 'Non Siamo Isole' - we are not Islands - with Brian Kennedy as a guest singing the solo part, they do a beautiful Italian Chorus and the next one is a beaut: 'Ten Thousand Tears', bringing up the theme of Madama Butterfly (humming chorus from the opera as a background) and James Nelson doing a beautiful little duet with Majella Cullagh, and whoever knows the voice of Samantha Mumba can hear her with the Tenors in the lovely 'You Raise Me Up'. From the eighties comes 'All Out Of Love' and they sing it with 'Air Supply' (wow!). Then 'Angel Of Mercy' follows, with Deirdre, the sister of the Tenor Matthew Gilsenan (There's a lot of talent in this family!). 'Eric's Song' - James Nelson sings it and he wrote the quiet music for this heart-breaking poem from a death-row prisoner. And then comes the beautiful 'Caruso' (Lucio Dalla), sung by Niall Morris in best Opera-tradition. 'Deep In Your Heart' (you might know this already from Liam Lawton's CD) makes you think a lot. Deirdre Shannon again reinforces the group as they sing 'Still By Your Side'.
So far these songs are the same as on the CD "We Are Not Islands", that came out in Ireland . But on this CD there are two songs they are best known by: The lovely 'Danny Boy', sung a capella and the one that gives it's name to the CD: 'Remember me'. Just accompanied on the piano by the composer Phil Coulter, who wrote it for them, I assure you you will 'remember them', having listened to it.
