Nicely produced but no circular walks.
We bought this knowing that the Rother series is generally reliable and well-formatted. Well, this applies also to this offering, which has lovely illustrations and useful maps (though you should still have a proper map as well, and a compass for misty conditions, as the paths on Gran C. are generally confusing and not well marked.) But - and it's a big one - virtually all the walks in the book are linear, requiring use of public transport or taxis. We were very disappointed with the book, as we were on a multi-day walking tour with some days off, and intended to use the Rother Guide for circular walks only. Apart from that, the coverage is quite good, and descriptions seem accurate. Gran C. is a magnificent walking island, so go there, but before buying this book, look carefully at other publications which may offer more choice of route style.
