Synopsis
This amusing work shifts the dead weight of shame and blame and replaces it with feeling good about being fat. Being fat and happy is about style and attitude, and this book of quizzes, essays, reportage, and plain facts proves that anyone can be happy, healthy, successful and fat.

From the Author
How I had a really bad day, and why YOU don't have to...
A few years ago, I had a really bad day. First, the guy I was seeing said he was embarrassed to introduce me to his friends because I'm fat. Ouch! Then, Blue Cross told me I couldn't have any health insurance because of my weight. Double ouch!

The funny thing is, I'm not bad looking and I'm not in poor health. I'm just fat.

I decided that I had to speak out against this kind of mistreatment. So I started a zine (short for magazine) called FAT!SO?. It's been the most fun I've ever had.

Thanks to FAT!SO?, I've learned how to say the F-word (fat) with pride...no one can ever hurt me with it again. I've discovered that you can absolutely be happy and healthy and sexy and successful...AND fat! Best of all, I've met hundreds of wonderful people of all sizes who share the FAT!SO? spirit.

Like them, you can learn how to reclaim your body and live healthy at any size. (And have fun doing it!)

Remember why they call it a belly laugh: The FAT!SO? book has more toys and games per page than any other book on the market. It has an animated flip book of a fat chick throwing off her muumuu and dancing in her minidress. It has paper doll fashions for the Venus of Willendorf, that loveable prehistoric goddess statue. It has sassy comebacks, fat history trading cards (the heroes and villains), eye-opening photos of butts and bellies and arms and chins (of all shapes and sizes), plus much, much more.

I invite you to check it out... Because life is too short for self-hatred and celery sticks! Because you don't deserve even one really bad day. Because you DON'T have to apologize for your size!

Fat!So? is the instruction book for Living Large5
Thanks to Fat?So!, the next time someone asks me "Should you be eating that?" I'm going to pause, look at them knowingly, and with a wink and a nod, say "I was, but I think you need it more than me."

Read about the mysterious disease that has started attacking fat people who become famous, get tips on personal trainers, find out why flirting is like any other martial art. And not only can you learn snappy comebacks for rude people, you also get handy pre-written blurbs for you to use on a date, when someone is rude, on a job interview, and in the doctor's office. Discover what Marilyn Wann did that the people at Weight Watchers found offensive, why she dies her hair hot pink (and why you should too!), and why people call her "Hank." See what practical advice Aunt Agony has for the woman whose jeans keep wearing out between the thighs. Learn the principle of "wash and chop," see pictures of naked fat bellies, arms, chins, butts; get bowling advice, medical references (it is more health threatening to be short than fat), and cool facts (fat women are twice as likely to enjoy sex and to reach orgasm). There's a recipe for Cottage Cheese Surprise, instructions for dealing with those annoying bright yellow "lose 30 pounds in 30 days" signs on the side of the road, a flabulous paper doll, trading cards and a list of 17 fun things to do with your bathroom scale that don't involve weighing yourself.

Fat!So? is powerfully enlightening. Thank you, Marilyn Wann, for your bold statement that fat people are cool. I propose that Crayola add a new color in honor of Wann--Fat!So? Pink!

Size doesn't matter5
I think this book is great. It is full of interesting facts and statistics about weght and eating etc. It is light hearted and positive and full of other people's stories abut how they ended up accepting themselves when they were physically different from what is accepted by society. A very positive book, but you may need to read it more than once to really take on board the confidence!!

Great read!5
I bought this book, along with some others to work on my self esteem after putting on a lot of weight.

This is a fantastic book, it really helped me, its funny, witty, charismatic and informative.

Marilyn Wann is an inspiration to larger ladies, and I would highly recommend this book!
