Superb Software - An Absolute Must Buy
This is quite simply the best disk partitioning software you can buy!

I have a WD 80GB hard drive, and this SW is simple to use, fast and incredibly powerfull.

It allows (almost) dynamic partitioning of you hard drive (after a quick re-boot). I have organised my hard drive as follows (and often resized): -

C: System
D: Recovery
G: Games
M: Music
P: Photos
S: Spare Capacity
V: Videos
W: Work

Register with acronis to recieve any updates and improvements. For example my original product was only XP compatible, however once registered was able to download v10 build 2160 which is also Vista compatible.

Organising your partitions reduces the backup time (Norton ghost of C: drive), and reduce the defrag time of the system drive. My p: and m: drives are much easily backed-up as data onto dvd.

One minor problem I had was fixed very promptly from Acronis Support, so no problems there...

Overall absolutely no regrets in buying this SW.

Good but not compatible with Windows 7 yet
Disk Director 10 works quickly and will carry out multiple operations in one re-boot session. With the exception of the graphical display of the partitions, it is a improvement over my old favourite PowerQuest Partition Magic 8.0. However, the September 2009 version of Disk Director 10 (build 10.0.2239) is not compatible with Windows 7, and Acronis advise: "At present we cannot comment on the release of a new build to make Disk Director compatible with Windows 7". To be fair to Acronis it doesn't claim to be compatible, but it is easy to assume that because True Image 2010 is compatible that Disk Director 10 will also be. So partitions need to be in organised before Windows 7 is installed.

Dead easy to install, although I had to immediately download an upgrade from their website, this was also very easy. In fact, I think once registered all upgrades are free so might be worth seeing if you can buy an older (cheaper) version and still upgrade. Mind you, it is cheap already.

Makes partitioning a drive or moving partitions a piece of cake. Very good product for the money. Together with Acronis True Image you can try out new operating systems (such as LINUX) or other software safely. Just bodge your PC up as much as you like on a new partition and then restore if it all goes horribly wrong.
