    false economy1
I've now had 2 of these blenders, and they've both been awful. The motor of the first burned out after a few routine blending jobs. The second had a strange rattle from the very first time I used it. The model seems to create excessive splash when blending. Do yourself a favour: spend a bit more and get a decent brand.

    spend more money!1
I got these to blend soup with. they burnt out the first time i used them and i still had to get the kenwood chef out to finish blending the soup. don't bother with them. I ended up spending more money and am really happy with the next one i brought.

Cheap & Cheerful but OK for my use3
I agree with other comments that it is a basic item but I wanted to use it to mix up powdered soups and shakes as I am on a special diet. The price was good and it's easy to clean as the bottom section clips off to wash.

Although it has 2 speeds I can't seem to tell the difference between the two and they both go pretty quick, so I have to be careful that the contents aren't forced upwards and out of the container.

I don't know how it would cope with things that are much harder, although it has a metal blade and it seems to have quite a bit of power.

If I wanted to have a stick blender that I used for lots of different jobs and it was going to be a key piece of kit for my kitchen, I would buy a better one. But for my use it's absolutely fine.
