Nice machine but not entirely what was expected...
Having checked out other makes of expresso coffee machines, I finally chose the Gaggia, prepared to pay the extra cost involved. When the machine arrived, I was disappointed to find the 'metal' casing was actually silver sprayed plastic and marks VERY easily. The annoying thing was that I paid extra for the silver look when I could have saved £20 and bought the all-black model which would not have shown any scratches!
Furthermore, so far, every mug of cappuccino I've made has been almost cold! This may be my fault so I give the benefit of the doubt but the instructions are rather vague and I found difficult to follow. Possibly, if I was a business I would not need instructions, simply take the machine out of its wrapping, plug in, add water and coffee, froth the milk and hay-presto! But it didn't work for me.
On the plus side, the water heats up within a minute and steam is ready if required. The machine looks good in the kitchen (if you ignore the scratches! *tsk*) and...well, I'm sure there are some other positive points but I've yet to find them...oh, yes, the same machine can be bought elsewhere a lot more expensive than on amazon - so thanks, amazon, at least you look after us customers.
I hope other reviewers will prove me wrong as I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews...
