Stranely unputdownable
I too am someone who has played this on the pc and added the ds version.
as other reviews say the game is very simple and straightforward - you match jewels and change the colour of the grid squares, when all the squares are gold you've completed that level.

Sound easy and boring? Just the opposite! Some of the levels are sooooo frustrating and devour your lives, as for boring, the fact that such a simple game can prove so difficult means that you may get irritated at your failure but never bored.

There is one function that it retains from the pc version (thankfully!) when your lives have all been lost you can restart at the level you've reached and don't have to start from scratch - unless you want to of course.
This is a strangely addictive game and you will be amazed how much time has passed while you battle the jems.

Good job done given the DS machine limitations...
Like other reviewers, I had played the PC version and loved it, and was looking forward to the chance of playing this 'on the go', so to speak.
The gameplay is much the same as the PC version - move jewels around to match three or more of the same colour, and try to clear the board within the time limit.
The limitations of the DS screen size is all that stops me from giving it five stars - some of the icons are a little hard to see, and it was never going to be as good as the PC version, but it's become a firm favourite with my whole family, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys puzzle games.

A bit dull!
I was looking forward to getting this game. I'd played the online version for a while which, of course, didn't have any extra features or challenges. However, I was quite disappointed with this game. It's turned out to be a bit boring, all it is is more of the same and I find it a bit frustrating. Maybe I haven't given it enough time but did play for several days. I've now gone back to Puzzle Quest for a while - similar but there are more quests and side stories that keep it interesting. I will give Jewel Quest another go, though.
