Manufacturer's Description
If you've listened to the radio in the last fifty years and you know how to buzz, then you're all set to be the next contestant on Buzz: The Music Quiz

Buzz brings the music game-show to your living room, testing your music trivia and buzzer skills. Included with the game are a set of four bespoke buzzers which lets four people play right away, and provides an interface that even a techno-zero would understand.

'Buzz' is your host, complete with an all-knowing smile, a catchphrase, a glamorous assistant called 'Rose' and his very own theme tune. You can select a playable contestant to suit your personal music taste, choose from 16 different characters including a pop diva, a rocker, a punk, an Elvis and a disco dude.

There are over 1,000 music clips--all international chart-toppers from the 1950s through to 2005--and over 5,000 questions to test your knowledge, either by playing solo in a fast paced single-player mode or with your friends in the multiplayer game. You can choose to play in short bursts, or over a longer period if you want to. All wins and losses can be saved to memory cards if you need to refer to them at a later date!

There are eight different rounds that will give you the opportunity to prove your music muscle:

  • Point Builder: A nice simple round to start off with which lets you build up some points to lose or build on - in later rounds.
  • Snap: If you see the right answer appear onscreen, then Buzz in as fast as you can. Beware though; you'll need lightning reactions to beat your competitors.
  • Fastest Finger: The quicker you buzz, the more points you'll see.
  • Offloader: Whether you know the answer or not is irrelevant. More importantly, who do you think doesn't know? This is your opportunity to get your rivals to answer the questions you don't want to.
  • Pass the Bomb: Answer the question correctly to pass the bomb to the next contestant, but don't get caught holding it as it goes off.
  • Point Stealer:Time to seek revenge on those that have crossed you in the past.
  • Buzz Stop: Good hand-eye co-ordination and an aptitude for inane trivia are all that's required for this round. This is a pass or play round, so Buzz in if you want no-one else to have the chance to answer the question if you know it, and pass if you don't.
  • Look Before You Leap:The final round, so there is everything to play for here. Buzz in as soon as you know the answer, but watch out as hastiness could be a bad move: if you don't know the answer, you'll lose points.
  • Tie-Breaker: And finally, a game-show would not be a game-show without the ubiquitous Tie-Breaker

This is going to be great for Xmas!5
This is a great product; you pretty much get to be in a TV music quiz on your Playstation 2. Buzz is as cheesy a quiz show host as you'd ever see and has lots of corny lines (and a glamorous assistant). But the best bit is that you play against your friends or family - great fun when you're that little bit faster than them to spot a song title, or when you know something they don't. The rounds are really well chosen so that it's not all about fast reactions, and even if there's one runaway muso playing there's real competition for the other spots. The buzzers are pretty cool too - a much better idea than trying to do a quiz with the regular PS/2 controller. Anyway, playing this with a whole group of mates is really cool and I reckon it's going to be great over Xmas. And there are songs from the 1950s all the way up until today so even your mum can have a go.

    A brilliant family game5
Dont believe the other bad reviews on here about this game, because if you love music and love playing games with your family then this is for you. Sure, some of the rerecordings are poorly done, but I`ve played it a lot now, and not once have I not recognised a song because of the quality of the re-recording. The presentation is superb, the buzzer peripherals are brilliant and its a really good fun family game. Highly recommended!

    BUZZ a must have.5
I recently was given this game for a christmas present and to be honest i'm very sinical about anything carrying such a hype around it. But WOW, what a game. 8 levels in the long game, no loading screens like irritating dvd based games, and above all it really does take family gaming to another level. Fastest finger, point stealing is to name but a few levels in this very addictive music genre game. You can even choose betwen old and new music, or even combine. I've had a playstion 2 from the very begining and this is definately one of the best games i've ever played. The best for multi play by far.
