Product Description

The RHS Diary 2010 showcases the work of Lilian Snelling MBE (1879-72), in particular her mature style, which formed the outstanding model for the British botanical artists of the latter half of the 20th Century. After studying at the Royal College of Art, London, Lilian became a professional artist, contributing the illustrations to the supplements of Henry Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium. From 1916-21, she worked at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh and in 1922 she became the principal illustrator of Curtis's Botanical Magazine and continued there until 1952. The RHS Diary 2010 has a week to view and is illustrated in colour throughout. Companion address book available.

Customer Reviews

A Classic Every Year5
I was bought the 2004 version as a Christmas present and I've made sure I've had the latest edition ever since.

What lifts this diary out of the ordinary are the accompanying historic botanical illustrations taken from the rich archives of the RHS' Lindley library. There's one sumptuous illustration per week and they are a delight.

A5 sized and a week to view, there's just enough space to jot down those important events and things to do, or in my case make a note of the day to day work made on my garden/allotment, the weather and other miscellaneous observations.

There's the usual calendar, holiday and moon phase information, plus details of the RHS show dates. A few pages at the back of the diary are reserved for general notes.

Something any plant lover will treasure.

RHS 2010 Desk Diary5
Stylish, every week a fresh picture, love the pocket on the inside cover for notes, just enough room for appointments, etc.

The Only Diary I ever buy.5
I have bought this Diary for several years and will never buy any other Diary. For each week it has a beautiful colour print of flowers on one page and opposite it has a clear generous space for each day of the week.
