Very disappointed - possibly unlucky???
I am very disappointed with this Hozelock product, I was expecting it to be a quality product as I have used other Hozelock equipment in the past with no problems at all. I'm not sure if I'm just unlucky and got the one faulty piece of kit from the production line? The first 2 times I used the sprinkler it was for approximately 30 minutes in duration and there was no problem. However, every successive attempt to use the sprinkler resulted in it locking in position so that only one part of garden got totally soaked. Turning off the tap and restarting resulted in the sprinkler working for various lengths of time up to approximately 2 minutes but each time it locks in place again. Very very annoying as I have to keep a constant check on the sprinkler and stop/start the water flow. I have now resorted to leaving the sprinkler in the box in the shed and I am using a hose to spray the garden myself. So all in all I am not happy with my purchase.

Great improvement over an earlier Hozelock model I borrowed from a neighbour. The older model gave similar problem to your worst review but I overcame this by wedging the setting control with a piece of wood. No need to do this with the new one I bought which was very easy to set up.

I had two very contrasting pieces of ground to water.

The first was a newly laid crescent turf lawn measuring about 9.5m by 6.5m which I had to water from two positions to economise on water usage. The sprinkler was very easy to adjust to cover the full length.

The second was a small almost rectangular area measuring 2m by 1.5m.

In both cases water pressure and the two sweep setting controls were very easy to set up for the coverage I wanted and hopefully saved a lot of metered water.

I cannot understand why your worst reviewer did not immediately exchange his faulty unit. He would not have been disappointed. Perhaps his hose had inserted a bit of contamination into the oscillating mechanism.

Great product
Bought as a replacement for a similar item which didn't survive the winter, this is an ideal sprinkler for use where the spray area varies in size. I was also pleased to receive the waterstop connector as these normally have to be purchased seperately, making this a really good value buy.
