Product Description

This is the standard and well established book on its subject, accessible to a general non scholarly audience, while being based on scholarly archival research. Singh exhaustively covers the genesis and development of Sikhism and the Sikh community, up to the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Customer Reviews

Sikhism is about making ordinary people heroes and lion-hearted5
Yet not to differentiate between belivers or non-believers, homosexual, vegans or whoever, in Guru's kitchen we all sit on the floor and we sit regardless of how rich or poor whoever sits besides us, why we dont eat non-veg in that kitchen is beacuse of the different dietary needs of people of different faiths, ie; muslims preference to Halal and Hindus to non-Halal.

What I like about Khushwant Singh is he writes the truth, can be very stubborn in his writting, but he is not somebody who wears Sikhism as not another 'this is what it is and you can't change it' and 'if you do this you are bad and go to hell or vice versa', he presents Sikhism as an interesting experience, something one can talk about, enlightening us with it's history and what makes Sikhs so resilent and humane.
