Synopsis
An out-and-proud college student wrestles with revealing his true sexuality to his parents when he comes home for Christmas break and his boyfriend decides to pay him a surprise visit. At school, everyone knows that Olaf 'Gunn' Gunnunderson is gay; at home, it's a much different story. Bidding his boyfriend Nathan goodbye, Olaf heads home to find that his parents have fixed him up on a date with his old high school sweetheart Abby. When Nathan comes knocking unannounced, he can't quite believe that Olaf hasn't come out to his parents. Later, as the boys scramble to keep Olaf's sexuality a secret from his parents, the conversations grow increasingly inquisitive and Olaf must decide whether to come out before the truth does.

Gorgeous, feel-good fun5
This film is a thorough exercise in feel-good film-making and has such a warm charm that it's impossible not to get wrapped up in its good intentions. The film follows closeted gay guy Gunn who returns home to spend Christmas with his wacky family while his adorable boyfriend, Nathan, pays a visit to his stone-cold parents. When Nathan has finally had enough of his emotionally-bankrupt parents he decides to pay Gunn a visit, making it increasingly difficult for him to keep his sexuality a secret from his loved ones - cue farcical set-ups as Gunn desperately tries to maintain his 'straight' charade.

Whilst not the most taxing narrative, Make The Yuletide Gay is a genuinely lovable film, buoyed by the central performances which are thankfully free of the usual gay stereotype (no screaming queens here!). It's impossible not to be won over by this!

Can't wait for an easter spin off!5
This is one of the best feel good movies I've ever seen. Lead character Gunn (Keith Jordan) decides, after many trials and tribulations which take up the better part of this picture, to come out to his parents. I won't spoil the way they reacted, but for me it was the cherry on an already scrumptuous cake. What made it scrumptuous? Well, there's Bradley Branning-like Gunn for starters and the overall chemistry between all the cast to follow. In spite of the wafer thin plot characters became fully three dimensional and believable due to superb acting. A lot of humor (and freshly baked biscuits), provided by Gunn's mum and dad, put an extra spark in. All involved in the making of this film certainly succeeded making the yule tide gay in every sense of the word.
