Quite a thorough introduction to clinical examination. There are a few books out there, and they're all pretty similar.

For reference only. Use it to make notes on the really important diseases, like hypertension and heart failure.

In fact, the whole Lecture Notes series is BRILLIANT (I used them for Haematology, Cardiology, etc). Perfect amount of detail - not too much, not too little, but like Goldilocks' porridge, just right.

You gotta exercise your brain.

As above but much more concise; perfect if you're doing a Paeds elective.

Nifty little Orthopod book. Learn your eponyms! Also, Surgical Talk has a good section on Orthopaedics (check out my Medical Finals Survival Guide List).

The BNF is not just for reference - you can study from it too. For example, check out the section on antihypertensives - it gives some pretty useful advice. Same for antibiotics, antiepileptics, etc.

I despise the ABC series (as well as "At a glance" and "Crashcourse" - this isn't preschool); however, the Breast book does the job. (For everything else, if you need concise, use the Lecture Notes).

This is a good little book to carry on the wards with you to jog your memory for clinical examinations. Fits in your pocket. You'll need something more thorough to prepare for OSCEs though.

There are things you need to learn for comm skills, just like in any other subject in medical school. That's why it's such a large part of the curriculum these days - some docs can't communicate.
