A story of someone who saw behind the scenes - an eye opener!
The story of Corky a celebrity PA, based on real situations faced by author and celebrity PA Heather H Howard. This book keeps you wanting to read more and more I just couldnt put it down. It was great trying to guess who the characters might be based on and it is a real insight into the stars lives from a character who lived alonside them. If half of these situations were true Corky/Heather deserves a medal. It is a great read and I recommend it to everyone who wants to see 'behind the scenes' of the Hollywood glitz and glamour.
Novel, or thinly veiled autobiography??
Chore Whore is a novel based on the adventures of a celebrity personal assistant in LA. The great thing about it is that the author did the job for twenty years and claims, on the cover, that 98% of the book is true!
The novel is basically what you would expect; light reading, plenty of name dropping and details of the star's obsessions and demands. If it is true, then this woman deserves a medal! Demands include everything from late night call outs for condoms, catering (with one day's notice) for a dinner party of stars who are all on different fad diets, being peed on by dogs and dry cleaning groupie's knickers and then dumping them on behalf of your boss!
I really enjoyed this novel. The story line is a little thin, but it was good fun trying to work out who the characters might be.
Worth a look.
Hollywood Hell
Lovable heroine Corki balances being the mother of a very accident prone 10 year old to a demanding role as a personal assisant to an array of celebrities. Cooking, shopping, planning their wedding and lying for them, all whilst trying to avoid being involved in a bank robbery and being splashed across the weekly tabloid!
Quiet unbelievable but believable this is a great tale of hollywood living from the assistants point of view.
