'Brilliant' - "OK!". 'Engagingly warm' - "Heat". 'Sensational' - "The Mirror". 'Ronan Keating demolishes his 'Mr Perfect of Pop image in a new warts-and-all book of his amazing ride to stardom' - "The Mirror". Ronan Keating is a very real idol. In a life-story that received extensive press and ecstatic reviews as 'a classic - honest, funny and gripping', Ronan Keating tells the full story of his incredible journey. He may be only 23 but he has lived an extraordinary life so far, from playing football on a housing estate in North Dublin to headlining Madison Square Garden with Elton John. But Ronan has never forgotten it's his fans that got him there. It's an inspirational story of a boy from modest beginnings who confounded the critics and made his mark with talent, boyish good looks and, above all, an integrity that has helped him move from the teen market to a broader, adult audience. In a surprisingly honest, remarkably frank style he talks openly of his background and his beloved mother, Boyzone's extraordinary catapult to fame, his friends and band-mates and his new solo career and his wife and son. Brimming with anecdote and revelation, this is a brilliantly written book by a true star - Ronan.

Amazon.co.uk Review
At least Ronan Keating, fledgling solo artist and lead singer of Irish pop sensation Boyzone, is honest from the start of his biography Life is A Rollercoaster when he confesses: "I'm only 23, so this is not exactly what you'd call an autobiography! It's too soon to start writing my memoirs." But in all honesty, this is just what Life is a Rollercoaster is, and while he is barely older than a lot of his fans, the Boyzone star has a lot of stories to tell about what has so far been a rather spectacular career. There are also some revealing incidents, such as Ro (as he is referred to by his friends) meeting up with his idols, fellow Irish rockers U2, coping with rumours about his sexuality and the Boyzone boys crafting a Mission: Impossible style escape plan to avoid paying an 80 pound phone bill in their early, less affluent days. It also covers some more recent developments in the Keating and Boyzone camps, including Stephen Gately's outing ("We all knew from the start that Stephen was gay") and Ronan's management career with another hot Irish property, Westlife. The real meat of the book comes from the recollections of Ronan's relationship with his mother, a relationship tragically cut short when she died of cancer just as the group was getting off the ground. His heartfelt memories are both touching and recounted with a restrained dignity; never does he pity himself or mourn too long for what he lost, rather he celebrates the time he spent with her. Fans of Ronan and indeed Boyzone will pore over every word and photograph and for a straightforward pop biography it works very well. Just like the man himself, it is charming, laid back and distinctly uncontroversial.--Jonathan Weir

Customer Reviews
Just try and put this book down!
"Life Is A Rollercoaster", is the brilliant autobiography of "Ronan Keating's" life. It puts to rest all of the rumours that you've heard about him and of "Boyzone", whilst at the same time exposing a few truths that even his most dedicated fans do not know. The "Nice Man" of pop, as he is called, loses this image in this book, and by the end of it, all you are left with is the real "Ronan Keating". This compelling autobiography had me in a non-stop reading frenzy until I completed the book, but the memories have lived on long after I finished the final page. A must for anyone, whether a fan of him or not, by the end of this read, you will have shed a few tears, laughed a lot and sang your heart out, and truly have turned into a "Ronan Keating" fan!!
Perfect end to perfect book!
This was an excellent well written book. The extra chapter was the perfect way to summarize this extremely talented young mans life. It's full of love, compassion and an enormous sense of warmth. Well Done Ronan!!
Roland says it best, he says it all!
To me Roland Keetings is something of an insparational figure. Whenever life gets me down, I just think to myself "Life is a roallercoaster, just got to ride it." I think it means we have to metaphoricaly by a book of tokens, que up, and pass a hight restriction before good things happen. This book doesn't tell you what the lyrics mean. I wish it did becuase i also follow the philosophy of saying it best when you say nothing at all. Unfortunatly this has led me into trouble with people who do not follow this philosophy. Nevermind.
