Captain Teggs is no ordinary dinosaur - he's an astrosaur! On the incredible spaceship DSS Sauropod, along with his faithful crew, Gypsy, Arx and Iggy, Teggs rights wrongs, fights evil and eats a lot of grass! Teggs and his crew have been sent to a beautiful and previously peaceful island. The clean living, vegetarian bactrosaurs have always lived in harmony with their sea dwelling neighbours, the shark like predatory megalodons. But now the two races are on the verge of war! The island is sinking and waste from the bactrosaurs is invading the megalodon world. Teggs are his crew are suspicious of a newly arrived race, the terror birds. Famous for being fighters, these ones claim they are peaceful but Teggs wonders if they could be stirring up trouble between Queen Soapi and King Fin, the megalodon leader. Can the astrosaurs help solve the riddle and stop the island disappearing into the sea for ever.

About the Author
Born in 1971, Steve Cole spent a happy childhood in rural Bedfordshire being loud and aspiring to amuse. He liked books, and so went to the University of East Anglia to read more of them. Later on he started writing them too, with titles ranging from pre-school poetry to Young Adult thrillers (with more TV and film tie-ins than he cares to admit to along the way). In other careers he has been the editor of Noddy magazine, the voice of a Dalek and an editor of fiction and nonfiction book titles for various publishers.
Customer Reviews
A good read
My eight year old son thought that the terror birds were really silly. He enjoyed the book and has read a number of the series and would recommend the book to others.
cool book with a message
I thought it was funny and weird. I really enjoy Astrosaurs books and this one was great. I don't know which is my favourite! I loved it when Teggs and Gipsy were swimming in the underwater town, and when Iggy got pulled down the toilet! (George, aged 6)
Mum says - a really fun book with a strong environmental message about not dumping our waste on others. Great series of books that boys especially love.
Can't wait to read the rest
My 6 yr old said "I realy liked the action in it and cannot wait to get the rest of the series". Mum says "...it was great to see him so absorbed by a good story as he spend most of his time in the non-fiction section of any bookshop or library. He read it in an afternoon". Great for boys.
