Latte-lover Ava Langston knows exactly what she wants: her very own cafe in a vintage arcade in Bath and a life free of complicated relationships. But her plans go awry when her long-distance dad phones insisting she hop on the next plane to Costa Rica to meet his brand new wife. Ava has no intention of jetting to Latin America to acquire a stepmother - until, that is, her father offers her head honcho status at a beachfront cafe. The lure of frothing cappuccinos in a land where the coffee beans grow proves irresistible. But she hasn't planned on Santiago, her sexy-yet-stubborn business rival, or rugged Ryan whose idea of romance is swinging through the rainforest canopy at 6am. Both men give her butterflies but only one will capture her heart...

Hot, frothy and smooth
Another triumph from Belinda Jones. Having read all of Belinda's books, I was really looking forward to this one, as it is also one of my dreams to open a coffee shop one day. Haven't we all sat in one of those delightful havens during a busy day at work, grabbing our lunch when we can and meeting our friends to moan about the trials and tribulations of working in a stressful office and thinking how lovely it would be to be our own boss and providing a service to our customers which they will enjoy.
To cut to the chase, Ava Langston the heroine of our story thinks exactly the same at the start of the book and longs to open a coffee shop in Bath, however her estranged father announces over the telephone that he has got married again in Costa Rica and would love it if she could come over and meet her new stepmother and also run a coffee shop for him. Ava is not keen on the idea but her good friend Ollie persuades her to go and once there Ava settles in well, although her love-hate relationshop with Santiago, the guy who seems to carry a lot of favours with her father and who also becomes her competitor in running the same coffee shop makes things very interesting. Ava's step mother then decides to set her Ava up with one of her (the step-mother's) old friends, Ryan, a go getting, sports mad, play boy who ticks all the boxes for Ava. Ava's quest becomes to try and beat Santiago and win the coffee shop so that she can run it on her own but also to try to get along with Santiago in the process as after all they are working closely together but she is also swept off her feet by the charms of Ryan. Who will she choose, will any of them be her dream man or will she decide to run the coffee shop in Costa Rica for a while and use it to her advantage to gain some affection from her father again but then return back to Bath and run a coffee shop there with Ollie instead? Decisions, decisions!!!
I loved this book, Belinda has delighted her readers again by choosing a fantastic location that maybe a lot of us will never get to but by the end of the book feel as though we have been on the journey with Ava,feeling enriched by the colours, smells and excitement of this fascinating country. Belinda has obviously done a lot of research but what I most love about her books apart from the gorgeous places she goes to are the fact that her heroines appear so real. Especially to us thirty something women who have so many hang-ups about our bodies, our lives, our relationships with our parents and the way we react to the opposite sex and how they react to us.
Belinda truly is a wonderful writer and I can't wait to read her new book Love Accademy which is based in Italy again which I am sure will be as fab.
I can't say that this book is better than all the others, they are all great in their own way as even though some writers seem to have a formula with their books where you know what is coming next. It is nice that Belinda puts in a few twists that makes you think, long after you have read the final page.
Do read this book, it won't disappoint.
Good girly fun
I am usually the type of person who reads non-fiction stories, about peoples true lives, but i first read Divas in Las Vegas and that just got me addicted to Belinda Jones, and i read Cafe Tropicana after, and like Divas in Las Vegas i just couldn't put it down, my fiance never got a look in sideways and he said every time i read the book i always was laughing to myself, and smiling, beacuse it genuinely make you laugh and smile and you can relate to alot of the things that are written and all Belinda Jones books keep you guessing right until the end!!!
Couldn't put it down!
I read this book in a day, I could hardly put it down desperate to know what happened next & what kind of adventure Ava would be having. I fell in love with both Santiago and Ryan as well as Ava's character. Yet again a brilliant read from Belinda Jones & due to her amazing descriptions, i'm desperate to go to Costa Rica. Definitely worth a read!
