An exciting new talent, the two Jake Cake books are Michael Broad's first fiction titles for Puffin. Both writer and illustrator, he has previously produced two picture books – Broken Bird and Falling Star – and used to work in animation. He lives in London.

Great for reluctant readers
My 8 year old is not big on reading so I was thrilled when I took a
chance on the Jake Cake adventure books. They were an instant hit.
There are three stories per book (written and illustrated by the
character Jake) with a brilliant mix of magic and boys stuff. My son
has read and re-read them many times. We also read them aloud and
laugh at the mad pictures that Jake Cake drew himself - great fun!!

Jake Cake could possibly be Horrid Henry's more likeable brother. Jake's bright, laugh out loud funny, scruffy and get's into all manner of mad-cap trouble with a host of zany characters. Jake's drawings bring the mayhem to life. My kids and I love the books, and we're all looking forward to the next set of books.

my grandson loved it
I like to encourage my seven year old grandson, who has just started reading, to enjoy new authors. He adored this book and I am about to purchase more in the same series.
