In a distant time, dragons roam the mountains and forests of China and the whisper of war hangs in the air.
The dragon Danzi is not yet one thousand years old. He has no Dragonkeeper and wanders alone, horrified at how bloodthirsty and violent humans have become. As the Emperor's murderous armies gather, Danzi meets the traveling trickster Bingwen - a cunning and greedy man who can hear the dragon's thoughts and does not run from him as he should. It seems Bingwen is destined to be a Dragonkeeper, but his lies make Danzi more convinced than ever that he is better off alone.
But Bingwen has other ideas, and Danzi's destiny is decided . . .

Customer Reviews
What a rip off!
My son really enjoyed the other three books in this series, (as did I) and so we leapt on this when we saw it was available - what a mistake. It's more the size of a short story than a novel. The last 50 or so pages are taken up with the glossary, information about dragons and the first chapter of the first book in the trilogy! As for the other 150 pages - the print is really large and the pages really small. The story is fine but it's not enough to get your teeth into, and as we were expecting a whole other section of the story rather than a prologue we were very disappointed.
