Being a mediator doesn't exactly make Susannah Simon your typical sixteen-year-old. Her job is to ease the path for the unhappy dead to their final resting place. Not all ghouls want to be guided, but Suze is inclined to kick some serious ghost butt if she has to. Now she's moved to California with her new stepfamily and is starting out at a brand-new school. From her first day, her mediator skills are tested to the max when Suze finds herself the target of the murderous spirit of ex-class beauty, Heather. At least she's sharing her new bedroom with Jesse, who just happens to be the hottest ghost in history. Suze is totally warm for his form and is determined to win the heart of the sexiest spirit in town. But can this girl get her ghost?

First book on an amazing series.
I love Meg Cabot books and this one is no exception... in fact i think i can say it is her best work yet.
It is about a sixteen year old girl named Suze who has just moved to California to live with her mum and her new husband and his three sons. Oh and then there's the fact that Suze can see and talk to the dead. Which means that she has to spend her time trying to guide them (or kick them) into their next life.
This book also introduces what will be a major character in the rest of the series... a ghost named Jesse who is by the way totally gorgeous.
An amazing first book to the series and definitely worth reading!
Great book .. However not so keen on Suze.
I love reading anything to do with the supernatural so when I picked up this book, I was really excited; Meg Cabot is one of my favourite authors so I wanted to see how she would tackle a book about ghosts.
The plot was really interesting and you never really knew what was going to happen next. Everything was well thought out by Cabot and the book managed to keep me gripped right until the end.
However, Meg Cabot usually creates a really likable lead character; someone who everyone can relate to. I found it really hard to relate to the character of Suze. In parts of the book she was really aggressive towards people and I found that in parts of the book I really disliked her. And for once in a Meg Cabot book, I didn't want the lead girl to get the guy!
I am going to read the rest of the series and see if my judgement on Suze will change ( I hope it does because the story of this book was ace!!!)
If you liked this you'll like:
