Product Description

'Affairs are easier to have than you'd think.'

Jill and Rob are happily married - until they discover that it's Rob's fault they can't have kids.

It isn't the end of the world for Jill. She's just happy to have a trustworthy husband who loves her deeply and presses all the right buttons in the bedroom. But Rob’s gone off sex and refuses even to discuss it. In fact, all communication between them has come to an infuriating halt. And Jill just yearns for a bit of fun.

It wouldn’t be so bad if one of her best friends wasn’t having the best sex of her entire life (albeit behind her husband’s back) while her other friend has a stunning husband who she’s still in lust with.

But are things ever what they seem?
How well do we ever know our husbands, our best friends or even ourselves?
Jill is about to find out when she faces infertility, infidelity and the truth head on...

‘Set in Newcastle, there is a fresh and vital edge to this superior debut novel... A bittersweet narrative and ambiguous outcomes make this much grittier and more substantial than standard chick-lit fare.’ (Financial Times )

‘An eye-opener to those of us unmarrieds who see the grass as greener on the other side... At last a modern story of life in the North East, not a clog or flat cap in sight, just three thirty-somethings trying to sort out their lives. Realistic and entertaining.’ (New Books )

‘There’s a big buzz around this tale of three Newcastle wives tempted to cheat on their husbands and I can see why…' (Eve )

Knockout!5
A friend of mine lives in the writer's home town up north and said I'd not be able to put this book down and she was right! When I saw the cover I didn't think I'd care for it as I am NOT into chicklit at all. The cover is very chicklit. But the book is not. As one review I read of it in the Telegraph said, it keeps its head well out of that chicklit territory by the detailed way it looks at temptation, marriage and infidelity. Yet it's total fun too. I laughed a lot and cried a lot too. But Carol Mason really can write and even though this is her first book, I'll look out for her in the future because she's very entertaining and made me think.

Cool book5
I thought this book was so funny. The main character, Jill, is so honest about the stuff women don't always speak about - or at least, that they're not supposed to. I laughed so much and found it a very fast read - especially the second half that just flew coz the plot got so gripping. But it definitely got more serious too. Loved the ending. Thought it ended exactly as it should have, with a little surprise thrown in there too. A great read over the Christmas hols.

A good read - and I highly recommend..4
...this is great fun and comes highly recommended. I started it last night, and finished it this morning - which just shows how addictive it is!

I'm a huge reader anyway, and this was one of the better ' chick lit ' novels that I've read. My only quibble would be that the ending is kinda unbelievable, but hey, it's a story and we're supposed to suspend our disbelief!

Read this - you won't be disappointed!
