Customer Reviews

Without a doubt my favourite book of recent years5
I first bought a copy of The List of 7 back in 1994. Since then, the book, and its sequel, The Six Messiahs, have become an annual highlight in my reading calendar. The List of 7 is a highly atmospheric novel, which is superbly plotted, and which races along like a steam train to its climax. Frost has a real skill in painting the strongest of pictures in the reader's mind, and this book has a number of moments which still linger in my memory. Its characterisation, however, is its strongest point. The three main characters are brilliantly crafted by Frost, and this really marks the book as a true classic. Alexander is a truly original villian, and the best chapter in the book revolves around his brother's account of his life, and how it has shaped his own. I have introduced this book (and the sequel) to a number of friends, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Please Mr Frost, complete the trilogy!

A True Mystery5
Conan Doyle and a secret agent! Mystery, intrigue and excitment. This truely is one of the best books I have ever read. It has everything you could ask for, including a little romance. Conan Doyle, although a little bewildered at first, is soon quick to involve himself in the twists and turns of the plot, as problem follows problem. To put this book down is impossible, and to love the secret agent is a matter of course, whether you are male or female.
Altough this review is short, it can't justify the book.... You'll just have to read it yourself!

Brilliant5
This is not the usual type of book that I would read - a Victorian supernatural murder mystery. However, after ten pages, it is a book that you just cannot put down. Frost introduces the main characters and hints at their backgrounds to begin with before describing their pasts in detail. By the end of the book you are turning the pages ever faster to find out what happens to the good guys and if evil is vanquished. After reading this, you will want to track down Frost's sequel, 'The Six Messiahs' which is every bit as gripping.
